‘Bloody hell, Harry!’ is something people say a lot! The attention has
never bothered me too much. It’s part of it and I’m used to it. It’s
quite manageable. It’s just friendly people coming up to you. It’s not
anything crazy. And those people are the ones buying cinema tickets. If
it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. – Rupert Grint
THAT FIRST SITE IS EVERY WRITER’S DREAM DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I’VE TRIED WRITING SOMETHING AND THOUGHT GOD DAMN IS THERE A SPECIFIC WORD FOR WHAT I’M USING TWO SENTENCES TO DESCRIBE AND JUST GETTING A BUNCH OF SHIT GOOGLE RESULTS
It’s because the entire premise of it is based upon the fact that for the first time ever, someone chose him. A kid who grew up with 6 siblings all of which were more clever or smarter or successful. A kid whose best friend was the most famous person in their world. A kid who was never recognized for anything other than the people he was surrounded by.
And in the end, it was the person he loved who chose him.
Despite the fact that Viktor, and Harry, and whoever else seemed more appealing to the world. Despite the fact that they were better on paper.
Despite the fact that even many of our fandom sees this character as a joke.
And unlike most underdogs in stories, he is never given a chance.
He never rises up and defeats the villain. He is never revealed to be the ‘REAL’ hero like Neville Longbottom so often is. He doesn’t have that It’s Up To You, Ron moment.
But it doesn’t matter.
And Hermione sees that.
It’s that concept of being uniquely special to the right person when everyone else, the entire world even, sees you as remarkably average.
You don’t have to be a hero or the boy who lived or anything else to them because you are enough and they choose you.
Bad news, Harry. I’ve just been to see Professor McGonagall about the Firebolt. She er-, got a bit shirty with me. Told me I’d got my priorities wrong. Seemed to think I cared more about winning the Cup than I do about staying alive. Just because I told her I didn’t care if it threw you off, as long as you caught the snitch first.
i wonder if harry was ever slightly embarrassed about the second task i mean they took cedric’s girlfriend and victor’s girlfriend…and then they took harry’s ron.
excuse u ron is the best ok don’t ever insult my son again
except the opposite of this should be true?
fleur and harry got people they truly loved taken, fleur’s sister, and ron is “as good as” his brother (referencing when molly weasley said harry was as good as her son)
cedric had been dating cho for like three months?? yeah they were friends but like im sure cedric had better friends, especially considering him and cho weren’t even in the same year
and viktor barely knew hermione, he had not only just met her, their communication was also spotty at best bc of the language barrier. taking hermione makes even less sense, the only way i can see it working is that krum was infatuated and he had no close friends at durmstrang bc of his quidditch career
like if anything it would be cedric and krum that should be embarrassed bc it’s like accidently saying “i love you” too early in a relationship
I’m surprised no-one wondered whether Ron and Harry were a couple after the second task, to be honest.
