Cornwall has it’s own distinct Celtic identity, with it’s own language (now currently undergoing a revival), national flag, national saint (St. Piran), as well as it’s own unique history. Cornwall also had it’s own line of monarchs, many of whom left monuments that are still standing today.
On ancient maps, Cornwall was known as ‘West Wales’ because it was more similar to Wales than it was to England, despite being physically connected to England instead of Wales.
Originally, the Cornish were one part of several large Celtic tribes that lived in the West-Country region of the southern British Isles. The tribe was known as ‘The Dumnonii’ and inhabited what it now known as Devon and Cornwall. However, the parts of the tribe living in Devon eventually became absorbed into the kingdom of the Angle-Saxons, which later became known as England.
Those of the tribe living in Cornwall, on the other hand, were protected by the Tamar River, which divides almost the whole of Cornwall from England. The Cornish were also protected by their wild climate, as many parts of North Cornwall (the bit nearest to England) is covered by moorland. As a result, the Cornish were largely left alone by the English, aside from in trade and commerce.
It was only until the Norman Dynasty of English kings that Cornwall began to be ruled by the English.
The Cornish language was actively discouraged, and English domination was so strong that the language became extinct in the 18th century.
The Cornish are an officially-recognised minority. Cornish food (such as Cornish Clotted Cream, Pasties and other delicacies) are protected under UK law. Cornwall is also recognised as one of the six Celtic nations (the others being Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Brittany and the Isle of Man).
Many people in Cornwall refer to themselves as Cornish rather than English, and consider England to start at the Tamar River. However, most English people consider Cornwall to be ‘English’, and most history textbooks tend to put the English perspective as the accepted view on the matter.
I am Cornish rather than English. Although I am half-English on one of my parents’ side, I was born and raised in Cornwall. I consider myself British, but at a push, I’d refer to myself as Cornish rather than English.

I appreciate the offer, @vivithefolle. Very tempting.
Couple of things though;
-I have hypersensitivity to food textures, resulting in me being unable to eat a large proportion of French cuisine (now, Italian, on the other hand… that I can eat all day).
-I’m not English (being Cornish born and raised), so any jokes about the English are going to sail straight over my head.
-I cannot speak French to save my life. Seriously, it’s pretty much the only European language I can never get into my brain (I know more Japanese just from watching Anime than I do with French)
-Your political climate freaks me out (and that’s coming from someone who hears the world ‘Brexit’ five billion times on the news every day)
-I like cold climates. Seriously, anything more than 25 degrees C and I stop functioning. Mods don’t lie sweating through their nice button-down shirt….
Having said that, I do like French New Wave Cinema, your language is beautiful even if I can’t understand it, I love cafes, and your architecture is lovely. So who knows?
Sure, absolutely! So for many years, I didn’t consider this pairing. Honestly it took years for me to even think outside the canon. But as soon as the idea entered my head….everything just clicked! These girls are soulmates, soulmates I tell you!! And here’s why:
1: They balance each other. There personalities have that beautiful and rare aspect where they can be completely different than each other while also bringing out the best in one another. Ginny is rough and fierce like a roaring fire, Luna is peaceful and patient like a still lake. They make each other shine.
2: They would be so happy together. In most successful pairings, the relationship is either built on angst, build up, or fake animosity. Now, I’m a sucker for this trope as much as the next girl but it is so refreshing to see a pairing that’s simply happy. They don’t need to hate each other or argue to have chemistry. They don’t need to build the mystery or longing. They just love and they just love loving.
3: Their relationship is built on mutual support. This is not the pairing that has to fake fight to show their love. This is the pairing that stands the fuck by each other. Ginny will defend Luna to the death and listen, judgment free, to her theories and beliefs. Luna would be the best athlete’s wife in the world and help her love be true to herself. They’re priorities are each other and that, again, keeps them balanced.
4: No one in HP or anything else is better than them for each other. When I picture their lives together, it’s easy. Theyre loving and peaceful, yet adventurous and exciting. They take trips and adopt cats. They find mythical creatures and win quidditch matches. They snuggle in bed for hours. They’re in love and it’s effortless. In all my years of living, I have never found a pairing more effortless, more right.
The very first character i fell in love with was Ron Weasley and that has yet to change!
A character i used to love… I’d say Hermione but thats just because this shitty fandom ruined her for me honestly! Also Dumbledore, i used to think he was nice and funny but now i just think he’s a manipulative asshole.
I used to like Drarry a little bit, i could see him redeeming himself later in the story and maybe even become friends with the trio but i finished the books and it never happened which was very disappointing. He could have had a cool “redemption arc” but ended up just being a selfish little bitch.
My favorite character™ its either Ron or Luna cause i can’t decide!
The prettiest character is definitely Bill fucking Weasley no doubt.
My most hated character(s), each one in order of the books: Snape, Snape, SNaPe, Barty Crouch Junior, Umbridge, Draco, Snape and Bellatrix.

My NOTP is everyrything that includes pedophilia and bully/vitim relationship when its treated as toxic.
Fav Book is definitely the last one cause it has my favorite chapter “The silver Doe” in it.
