1. Ron is the most magically powerful of the Trio. It has nothing to do with being a Pureblood; it’s a combination of sheer power and his capacity to feel. He can easily perform nonverbal magic, and when focused enough has been known to use wandless magic as well (which saved his and Harry’s butts a couple of times during Auror missions).
2. Ron will father the first twin girls to ever be born in the Weasley family. (I don’t have names or a functioning timeline for this particular one, minus the part where if their mother is Luna Lovegood, they will be named Ruby and Lazuli Weasley.)
3.
Ron is actually a huge prude despite what some of his most lewd jokes would have you believe. Molly taught her boys to be respectful of women’s bodies and Ron took those lessons very seriously.
4. Ron began to suffer from a very heavy depression not too long after the reveal that Scabbers was actually Peter Pettigrew. He won’t be diagnosed until the days after Hermione’s return from her seventh year of Hogwarts, when they spend time as a couple and he confides in her about how, time and again, he thought about “just letting go”. This is my in-universe reason to explain the changes to his personality that appear in Goblet of Fire after Rowling listened to Steve Kloves for a bit too long.
5. Ron actually experienced the Cruciatus Curse sooner than Hermione did. A larger group of Snatchers surprised him and tortured him for information as he was trying to find his way back on the Horcrux Hunt.
6. [SEXY TIMES ALERT] Ron has got the biggest praise kink ever. He was ashamed of it at first because he thought it was pathetic to need reassurance to get it on.
Least favourite Ron line/moment?
When he lashed out at everyone, including some first years, after Ginny told him Hermione and Viktor were more than pen pals. Ron, sweetie, I know you’re upset, but that’s Snape-ish behaviour and you’re so much better than that! (Since he stops being an arse two weeks later, whereas Snape was still in a snit twenty years after, it is therefore confirmed that Ron is leagues above Snape in terms of maturity.)
Do you think Ron Weasley would ever forgive Dumbledore/Snape/Draco Malfoy?
Oh boy, I don’t have one ideal career for him – well I have one, but…
I
completely headcanon Ron as a big softie and a family man foremost. He
loves his children. So in a way, him leaving the Aurors to become a
stay-at-home dad, and working with George so he has more stable work
hours while Hermione is away at the Wizengamot really makes sense to me.
I love myself a Dad!Ron who reads the kids bedtime stories and bakes
the best cakes and takes the little ones on broomrides.
But
I also love myself Ron as a successful writer with his great
imagination and love of wizarding fairy tales. I love myself Ron as a
Quidditch star who never lets a Quaffle in. I love myself Ron as a
teacher in Hogwarts, always with a Chocolate Frog in his pocket and who
makes his students learn through fun and laughter. I love myself Ron as a
badass Auror who captures the Death Eaters who’ve murdered so many
innocents. I love myself Ron as a Healer who feels such compassion and
has so much empathy that his medical spells are almost considered works
of art. I love myself Ron as a Wizarding Chess champion who teaches his
kids how to play and tears up in pride when Rosie manages to defeat him
one day. I love myself Ron as a toymaker who Transfigures and Charms the
products he makes so the children who buy them will never feel lonely
or overlooked.
Basically: give me Ron being awesome and successful and standing out
from the dreams of others, showing Harry and Hermione and the whole Wizarding World how much of a boss he is, then retiring so he can knit sweaters for
his kids because caring for his family is what this man does best.
When Luna says that one line at the end of Order of the Phoenix and she’s looking for her shoes– I think they were hinting that her things go missing all the time.
When Harry notes how awful that it, she replies “Oh its all good fun.” Besides, things have a way of turning up.
When I heard this exchnaged, combined with the Lovegood nickname
“Looney Lovegood”
It was my beleif that Luna was bullied. It isn’t obvious, they never really say it outloud in the movies and I honestly can’t recall it in the books, but it got me wondering.
That line, “oh its all good fun.”
It haunts me. Got me thinking. Is she allowing people to treat her poorly because it is natural for them to do so?
Does she think she is above all it and thats why she doesn’t let it get to her?
Is this encouraging bullying at Hogwarts?
This opens a whole other level of emotions for me, alot of them I can’t really put into words.
Clearly she could stand up for herself if she so needs, but why let people bully her when it isn’t innocent ‘joy’ they are feeling from it.
But I want to stand up for this lovely butterfly and thats all that matters 💞
Hmm, I think he and his family are Merlin’s descendants. Yep. They definitely are.
If someone spiked Ron’s pumpkin juice with Veritaserum and asked him to
pick between Harry or Hermione, who would he pick? Who does he love the
most?
I think he wouldn’t be able to pick, haha! He loves them both so much!
“Hermarry.
Harrymione. Harmiarryone. Herharmyne.”
They’re both his soulmates… in different ways.
If you could meet Ron Weasley and tell him anything, what would it be?
“Marry me.”
or
“You’re the one I read those books for.”
or most probably
“*incoherent delighted screaming*”
Okay, I actually legit love “The Weasleys are descended from Merlin.”
The Potters are descended from the Peverells, which makes Harry uniquely suited to wield the Hallows, do all this shadowy dark magic stuff. The Potters spent generations mucking about with hair potions to keep themselves out of trouble, with their affinity for the Dark Arts.
Whereas Merlin, for all the dumb s*** with people’s sex lives, was fundamentally a Good magician. Ron balances out Harry’s affinity for the dark arts. The key difference between Harry and a Snape or a Riddle is having a Ron, this is absolutely clear. It was Ron’s destiny to meet Harry on the train so they could team up together and wreck s***.
(Technically, it was his destiny to meet up with Harry on the train and become his nemesis, but they decided to be besties instead because Molly and Arthur raised Ron to be basically a sweetheart.)
And Hermione, as the muggle-born, is entirely sui generis, coming from nothing and entirely unpredictable. Her presence in the mix means the patterns of history don’t have to play out the way they have before. You could even have some of the completely bonkers bulls*** she pulls in books 5 and 6 point to an instability that comes from having all that magic bursting at her seams without the proper background.
You could run with that into a really cool powerful!Trio AU and make serious havoc.
Totally here for the ‘Ron is a descendent of Merlin’ AU idea.
I’m often confused as to why (in fanfiction) Hermione and Luna are often portrayed as really close friends.
I mean, there is a certain suspension of disbelief involved with fanfiction, but I’ve always considered Hermione to have the weakest relationship with Luna out of the golden trio.
Harry and Luna just get each other in a way that isn’t really the case with anyone-else (also, I’m a Lunarry/Huna shipper, so I love their relationship in-canon as well).
Ron and Luna are a fond BROTP of mine. I like how Luna is appreciative of Ron, and always makes it clear that she enjoys being around him (so much so, that I suspect she had a crush on him in OOTP). For his part, Ron definitely appreciates Luna even if he doesn’t really understand her like Harry does.
But Hermione? Aside from that brief bit in HBP where Luna comforts her, the two aren’t all that close. Sure, they are reasonably friendly with each other, but (to me) they always come across as more… close acquaintances than friends. I don’t know whether that’s just my personal opinion on the matter, but there you go.
What do you all think? Am I just over-thinking this, or am I onto something?
Yeah, I always felt that Luna and Hermione don’t particularly like each other. Luna gets on Hermione’s nerves, and Hermione in turn doesn’t show much respect for Luna. Not that they hate each other or anything, but they probably wouldn’t be friends with each other outside their friend group and a little garnish of trauma-bonding.
I think the reason it happens is that Luna and Ginny are the only two female characters that Hermione gets along with at all, and it’d be nice to think about Hermione having some female friends. But I think Hermione’s core circle of friends are Ron, Harry, and Ginny. (Although we don’t see them hang out together much on-page, there are a mentions of each by the other that really suggest that Ginny and Hermione are bros.) Hermione hangs out with Neville and Luna because they’re hanging out with her friends.
As for Luna… Luna’s a weird kid. I feel her really hard. Not particularly liking Hermione doesn’t at all preclude them being friends. Hermione isn’t actively stealing Luna’s shoes and hiding them, she responds positively when Luna tries to comfort her, I’ve no doubt that at some point Hermione shot a death glare and tapped her prefect badge when someone was giving Luna s***, therefore, Luna and Hermione are friends.
Is Ron a Taylor Swift fan? What type of music does he listen to?
HELL YEAH
Maybe I’m using Ron as a self-insert but of course Ron is a Taylor Swift fan. Don’t let anyone convince you that he isn’t! He fucking loves her and he would fight anyone who criticises his taste in music. Hermione introduced him to muggle music and he immediately fell for Taylor. Both Ron and Hermione go hard on ‘New Romantics’ and ‘Story of Us.’ Ron cried when Hermione made him listen to ‘Ours.’ Hermione admits that ‘Gorgeous’ is basically her thoughts in their fifth/sixth year. Ron and Hermione are convinced that Taylor is a talented Legilimens because there’s at least one song from each album that is basically their love story. Ron and Hermione are Taylor Swift stans. Sorry I don’t make the rules.
(Yes, I added this question just so I could share my “Ron is a Swiftie” headcanon. I’m not even sorry.)
Thanks for the ask 🙂
Seriously, though; you had me going there for a second…
I’m just messing, of course; it’s your headcanon. Go wild.
