This is Harry’s birthday today !
Just on time for me to finish @taryndraw potter week prompts challenge. It was such a nice weekend drawing those guy ! 🧙
I really love how Dean is repeatedly described as “Good with a quill” throughout the books, creating banners after quidditch games and posters for Harry. I imagine him sketching on his spare parchment pieces during class (Something that I could never resist doing :P).
Ron. I headcanon he becomes a bit of a home cook and gets super into it the older he gets, especially after finishing with the Aurors. Whoever cooks is usually the one who grocery shops. Plus, on some level I think he appreciates getting to shop and not be super concerned about the prices of food.
kills the spiders
Hermione! Lol. She will happily take them down for Ron and does NOT give him much flack.
comes home drunk at 3am
Ron. Though I don’t think it’s a thing much, but after a mission, I can see the team going to celebrate a victory- or him going with friends to late post-quidditch celebrations.
makes breakfast
Mostly Ron. Depends on the day though- and where they are in their careers. I feel like when he’s an auror- they just grab something easy- and whoever doesn’t have an early day might make a simple breakfast on weekdays. He loves a giant weekend brunch. Post-aurors Ron makes breakfast most days.
remembers to feed the fish
Ron. He’s used to quiet useless pets who you have to remember to take care of and cares about them. If Ron wasn’t on top of it, and trying to teach the fish tricks and figure out what snackies it likes- Hermione would do it out of obligation for sure. She’s better with plants.
decorates the apartment
Hermione. If it were up to Ron everything would look like a furnace- filled with Chudley Cannons/Gryffindor paraphernalia.
initiates duets
Ron for singing- Hermione for piano- Ron usually initiates singing in general- then pokes her to join. He’s likes to sing along to radio stuff or in the shower. She sometimes is the first one singing- but he makes it a duet and she usually blushes at being caught out. I like the piano scene in the movies- so I see Hermione getting him to play a few simple things while she plays the hard parts.
falls asleep first
A bit of both. When younger, Hermione is always the first one going to bed in the books, while Ron stays up and talks to Harry. She has a lot to do in the morning, so turns in early while Ron stays up piddling with stuff, and taking his time with relaxing. As their careers progress, he starts needing to get sleep where he can- so he’ll pass out earlier- while she stays up editing documents and then he’ll shuffle into the room, squinting to tell her ‘it’s time to go to sleep’- or put aside her book for her if she fell asleep with it. He likes tucking her in when she’s worked until she’s bleary-eyed/asleep.
