So I’m thinking about Hermione being Bellatrix in the Deathly Hallows, for the bank robbery.
And I’m thinking about Hermione thinking about being Bellatrix.
Because in a lot of ways, Hermione has been to Harry what Bellatrix is to Voldemort: utterly ruthless, utterly loyal. A lot of Hermione’s faults are things that could grow into Bellatrix’s faults.
And I’m thinking about Hermione walking around in Bellatrix’s shape, carrying her actual wand, not a month after Malfoy Manor, and having some feelings about that.
Bellatrix Lestrange should have been a Hufflepuff. If the hat considered traits had more than traits valued, I believe she would have been one. Or it would have been considered and she would have told the hat promptly to put her in Slytherin.
Loyalty? Yes. But Hufflepuffs also pride themselves on tolerance, friendship, kindness and fairness. None of which are qualities Bellatrix has.
