I had a Harry Potter revelation today:

Do you think the reason Ron is so into the Chudley Canon’s is because their clearanced-out merchandise was the only think the Weasleys could afford? Ron loved quidditch, but they could only get him tickets and merchandise from the worst team in the league since it was cheaper, and he was so excited to have cool quidditch apparel like other kids his age that he adopted the Canon’s as his favorite team, and even as an adult when he could afford to support a better team, he still loves the Canon’s because they were his first team.

I think it’s also the fact that Ron sees himself in the Chudley Cannons (ignored, taken the mick of all the time, and overshadowed by others) and supports them because he knows just how much it would mean to him if someone supported him, cheered for him, and defended him even when others disregarded him. 

Aaaand now I’m sad. I’ll be crying in the corner if anyone needs me.
