I hate the Harry Potter movies. I own them all and I watch whenever they’re on telly but I hate them all.

Maybe that’s it. I like to have a good moan once in awhile. They’re good to watch when ya wanna moan. That must be their purpose.

At least the HP films had some really good actors in them; Rupert Grint, Evanna Lynch, Bonnie Wright, Tom Felton, The Phelps Twins and Daniel Radcliffe, for example.

I don’t think I’ve posted these yet.

Reddit 2014:
I met a dude that did a small role in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of
Azkaban who said that Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson were pretty
dickish.  Apparently Rupert Grint was a solid dude, though.

The feeling on Emma seems pretty spot-on, I’ve heard a lot of people say
that. Dan on the other hand is apparently that way just because he
hates being swarmed – he loves the acting and all, but just can’t stand
people crawling all over him. (Remember, he’s the one that wore the same
outfit every day forever just to get the paparazzi to leave him alone.)

Emma Watson: a lot of my friends went to school with her (a couple of
years below) and she’d never been anything more than bratty and
immature.

I heard that Tom Felton was talking to a couple if extras in one of the
em early films and she came over and said “why are you talking to them?
They’re just extras”. This is one if those stories I heard from “a
friend of a friend whose friend knew an extra” kind if thing though.

(There was a similar story on another thread, but this supposedly happened when they were filming the final films:
Another story is when he tried talking to her at one point she just
looked at him then pretended she didn’t hear and walked away. Oh and he
overheard her saying to another cast member (the dude playing Neville)
“why do you keep talking to the extras?”
)

My sisters ex-bf’s parents own the grounds they filmed the first few HP movies on, she’s a giant bitch apparently.

My
friend was an extra from the 5th film onwards. He said she was a
complete bitch to everyone beneath her. They even cancelled a day of
filming because she just didn’t show up one day.

On the other hand Daniel Radcliffe was a great guy to work with
apparently. My friend was working on the set on valentines day. Some of
the people there dared him to ask Daniel Radcliffe to be his valentines,
which he thought was hilarious and hugged my friend. He said he was
always really approachable and nice to everyone on the set.

Aw now that sounds like the real Emma Watson. You can see this personality crack through the Hermione exploiting one a lot.

This is just sad to read about. I missed the days when I thought Emma Watson was a nice person.

Daniel Radcliffe- Fairly well-rated as an actor.

Emma Watson- Somewhat over-rated as an actor. (Sorry Emma).

Rupert Grint- “Under-rated” would be an understatement. Seriously, most people think he can only pull silly faces and act the fool….

Rupert was the best actor out of all three, if you ask me. Emma over-acted some parts (you could see her mouthing other people’s lines and wtf was that crying on the stairs scene? The writers are to be blamed for that but still) and most of the time it felt like she was just reading her lines from the script. The only time I liked her acting was when Hermione was being tortured.

Dan was OK but he did blow me away in that scene when Sirius died, but Rupert was the best. His dramatic, and comedic acting is fantastic and his facial expressions are pure gold. (When Ron was poisoned, the chess scene, etc) Too bad Kloves hated Ron and didn’t give Rupert enough material to work on.

I think, overall, Rupert was the most consistently good actor of the three leads. When re-watching the first two films, you really do get a sense that he understood Ron really well as a character, and how good at acting he actually was. Compared to Dan and Emma (who both took at least until POA to get good at acting), Rupert was acting brilliantly from day one. I never got the sense that he was just a kid trying to act- when I saw Rupert perform, I saw Ron on screen. I’ve seen Rupert in other things, and I honestly think he is the best character-actor out of the three. When you see him in things, you see the character he’s portraying, not the actor. I think that’s a very important trait to have as an actor.

Dan’s a good actor now (I’ve seen him in other stuff, and he is really good at what he does) but in the first few films, he was still very much the child actor. However, he did get better (I’d say POA was when he started acting really well, although he had the occasional moment before that). He took a while to get good, but developed into a good actor. That scene after Sirius died was really amazing- apparently, the film-makers had to mute the shot in the final edit because his scream was so visceral and heart-wrenching. That’s some darn-good acting!

I’ve always thought Emma was somewhat over-rated as an actor. I know how the fandom like to rave over how good she was (and is) when acting, but I’ve honestly never thought she was anything spectacular. Don’t get me wrong, she’s not a bad actor, but she always comes across as a little dull in most things I’ve seen her in. In the first two HP films, she wasn’t that good (although she had her moments), in POA, she was decent if a little over-acting at times. I thought she was good in GOF, but in the later films, she came across as really dry and flat (occasional scenes notwithstanding). It doesn’t help that, to me, whenever I hear her speak, she always sounds like she’s going to start crying. Maybe that’s why she’s good at scenes with intense emotions, like the torture scene?

But, yeah, Rupert is massively under-rated as an actor. Having said that, he has been nominated for a National Film Award in the UK, so maybe that perception is starting to change.

I want to add to this, my favorite role Emma has done is in The Bling Ring.  And I think it’s because she had to very much step out of her comfort zone in terms of who she was playing that ended up with a really authentic performance.  As someone who obsessed over the story of The Bling Ring (in real time and after the fact) and watched Pretty Wild (Emma played a character based on Alexis Neiers), I think she nailed it.

Fair enough. I avoided ‘The Bling Ring’ because I thought Emma’s attempt at an American accent sounded really…off to me. But that’s probably just because I don’t think much of her as an actor (please don’t send an angry mob after me).

We all know about the ‘every guy who played a Hogwarts student fancied Emma Watson at some point’ thing. But here’s another idea…

What if every girl playing a Hogwarts student ended up fancying Rupert Grint?

Obviously not during their first few years of making the movies (he was more awkward in those early films) but after Rupert Grint started growing into his face a bit, so around about the filming for ‘Order of The Phoenix’, Grint walks onto set one day, and a lot of the female actors (and a few of the male actors) his age are like ‘Oh- oooooh’…

And all of them are totally flummoxed because it’s Rupert, for goodness’ sake.

Grint not really noticing because he’s busy with learning his lines, and trying to do justice to the character of Ron Weasley (mission accomplished, by the way Rupert), but everyone else on set is like ‘when did this guy get so cool?’.

Also, Bonnie Wright laughing her head off about the whole thing, because you know she would have done.

Even the straight guys couldn’t ignore how incredibly hot Rupert got. Dan with his “Rupert got a sexy walk” and Tom all “I’d kiss Rupert, he’s a handsome guy,”

Rupert was always cute, but if your jaw didn’t drop when you first saw him in OOTP in that green striped shirt you’re lying. I had to google his age just to make sure I wasn’t gawking at a minor.  Those shoulders and those arms… fuck me sideways.

Emma had a thing for Rupert, she can deny it all she wants but… (off to find that video of her unapologetically flirting and checking him out)

“No, I was gonna come behind you and give you a kiss on the cheek” And his face at the end!

I’d stare at his chest too, Emma.

Oh yeah, definitely. Tom Felton even went so far as to say (in a jokey way) that he’s had a crush on Rupert for years. The guys knew what was up.

‘Order of the Phoenix’ was the film that made me sit up and go ‘when did he get drop-dead gorgeous? I’m not the only one seeing this, right?’. I was only a little fifteen-year-old that still considered themselves straight at the time. How wrong I was….

Emma, you’re not fooling anyone….

I knew I wasn’t the only one who suspected this. Unless she’s just socially awkward (which is a possibility), her body language and behaviour towards him during the production of the last few films definitely gives the impression that she had a bit of a thing for him. Not a Grintson shipper by any means, though.

Can’t say I blame her, to be honest. I mean, it is Rupert Grint after all…

I’m surprised she hasn’t spoken about it in interviews, to be honest. Maybe that’s a good thing though, considering how her words about her crush on Tom Felton ended up causing Felton shippers to send online abuse to Tom’s girlfriend. I wouldn’t want the same thing to happen with Rupert’s girlfriend Georgia.

Not gonna lie, I’m feeling a lot of schadenfreude about the fact that even Emma Watson wasn’t immune to the charms of The Grint.

Harry is totally flirting with her. And I am 100% here for it.

When I first read the Order of the Phoenix,I truly thought Harry/Luna was endgame.

Then HBP came along and I guess JKR remembered she wanted Harry/Ginny and I was so confused 😂

I thought I was the only one who thought that! I like Hinny, but I honestly thought Harry and Luna were going to be a thing from the last few chapters of OOTP.

ladytharen:

“you asked us a question and she knows the answer! why ask if you don’t want to be told?” and “there’s no need to call me ‘sir’, professor” both have the same energy and both were deleted in the book to film adaptations and having both would illustrate how ron and harry have the same levels of defiant sass specifically towards snape and I guess that’s why the films were too afraid to include either line

The names Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint sound more made-up than Harry Potter and Ron Weasley.

It gets better; Rupert’s full name is Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint. He sounds like royalty.

Sir Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint, Duke of Davenport and Scotland Yard

So, he’s the duke (and a sir) of a defunct brand of sofa, as well as the London Metropolitan Police? Actually, that sounds amazing. Rupert needs to make a TV show out of that premise.

i must made up random names bc they looked fancy xD in italy usually Sir is a fancy way to say “Mr.”(or so i listened in some old drama with nobles and princess xD)  ahahaha but oh my god xD ahaha i can’t stop laughing xD

Awww, fair enough. Yeah, in the UK, we also have that as a posh way of saying ‘Mr’, but ‘sir’ is also the official title someone gets if they get knighted by the queen. Dukes are people usually related to (or part of) the royal family.

good to know xD i made up random names and thanks to that i created a character that i want to see on TV:

Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint, heir of defunct sofa’s brand(Davenport), with his job as policeman will get knighted by her majesty the queen, and becoming the duke of Scotland yard thanks to his braveness in action!…a tv-show of a brave but goofy policeman? on what channel i can see it?xDxD

I would TOTALLY watch that!
