I’ve been a little down lately with all the art I’ve got to work on so I took a break and decided to go one piece at a time and start with the one I wanted to finish the most. So I combined the two things I love the most Harry Potter and Frozen , I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out and I kinda like the sketchy lineart style I’ve adopted lately, I would a similar one with Kristoff and Anna as Ron and Hermione but it would just end up being a hogwarts au with them in the wrong houses

Important Question!

Does anyone know of any novels that are retellings of Mulan? Or honestly any stories where the female main character disguises herself as a guy, I’m just in the mood to read about a girl who doesn’t have to deal with being a girl. Ya feel?

Thank you everyone who replied! Y’all gave me a nice long list of girl-disguised-as-a-boy books:

  • Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh
  • Leviathan by Scott Westerfield
  • Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett
  • Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao (maybe?? Couldn’t find any hint of it in reviews but whatevs I believe you)
  • Eon & sequel Eona by Alison Goodman
  • The Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce (Tamora Pierce is the BOMB DOT COM I love her Beka Cooper books)
  • Sovay by Celia Rees
  • Reflection by Elizabeth Lim
  • The Wild Orchid by Cameron Dokey
  • Cymbeline by Shakespeare
  • Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson (ooh that sounds good!)
  • China’s Bravest Girl: The Legend of Hua Mu Lan by Charlie Chin

And bonus: Owner of the Lonely Heart, a T-rated Ron x Hermione fic where Hermione disguises herself as a boy.

This is actually heartbreaking when you remember Lilo tells Stitch her parents went for a drive, and the bad weather caused them to crash.

I always thought this scene was adorable

Wow thanks guy

i never made that connection

WOW

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

YOU RUINED MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE MOVIE

I get the feeling the adults knew…

and now I’m wondering how in the hell Lilo came to the conclusion that there’s a peanut butter loving fish god who demands tribute or else he’ll murder your family.

When massive trauma hits, some people try to find any way to make sense of what seems senseless. Find any semblance of control, of responsibility.

Lilo may be blaming herself (unfairly) for her parents’ death. This was the only connection she could make, the only thing she could have had any control over, so to her it must have been her fault. If only she was a good girl. If only she did the right thing. Then maybe…

It’s very very hard to lose a mindset like that even when it’s the most irrational thing, even when it hurts you, because then you’re left with nothing.

And when you’re six your pattern recognition skills are a work in progress. Lilo sees that type of fish one day and as it swims away it starts to rain; connection made.

“Lilo may be blaming herself (unfairly) for her parents’ death. This was the only connection she could make, the only thing she could have had any control over, so to her it must have been her fault. If only she was a good girl. If only she did the right thing. Then maybe… “

This movie had some of the best scenes cut out of it.

This is one of my favourite movies yet somehow I never saw this deleted scene…. Excuse me a second…

*The distant sound of full on ugly crying*

I did nothing to deserve this 😭😭

I’ve always thought that Lilo was actually the one who wanted a peanut butter sandwich, but they were out of peanut butter at the time. So her parents decided to go to the store and they left their daughters at home thinking it would be a quick trip to get more groceries, and when the storm hit and they died, Lilo blamed herself for wanting a peanut butter sandwich. But since she was a child incapable of understanding it wasn’t her fault, she decided the next logical thing was that PUDGE THE FISH was the one who wanted the peanut butter sandwich, not her, and because he didn’t get the sandwich, her parents died.

Well, I guess I didn’t need my heart today…
