I’m guessing Harry never told Ron that Viktor Krum was eyeing-up Ginny at Bill and Fleur’s wedding. 

Because otherwise Ron would have probably apparated over to Bulgaria to unleash some serious arse-kicking. 

It makes me wonder if Harry was a bit concerned that if Ron found out he would much rather have Viktor date Ginny. It would get Viktor away from Hermione so Ron could be with her, and it would put Viktor in a position where Ron could be civil or even friends with him. I know it’s never mentioned but I just have this feeling that Harry was worried he could lose his best friend AND his best chance at being with the girl he loved in one shot. Plus maybe a small part of him thought Ginny might like Viktor better because he was described as handsome and he was obviously better at Quidditch than Harry. Poor bb Harry.

Hmm. Interesting hypothesis. I always thought that Harry was pretty much the only bloke that Ron was okay with Ginny dating. Ron really couldn’t stand Viktor Krum (mostly for what happened with Hermione), and probably wouldn’t take kindly to the twenty-one-year-old Krum eyeing up Ron’s fifteen-year-old sister. 

I think that, by DH, Ron had gotten used to the idea of Harry and Ginny being in love. The only time he got angry at Harry over it in the seventh book was when he was worried that Harry was messing around with Ginny’s feelings (that bit where Harry kissed Ginny despite them breaking up a couple of months previously). 

I think it might go down like this:

Hermione mentions Viktor, and Ron of course makes a face, but then Harry does too. Both her boys are looking really put out.

Hermione asks what’s up with them. ‘Not you now Harry!’

Ron glances over and is surprised to see Harry trying to school his features from a glare to something more neutral. For .2 seconds Ron’s old insecurity of H/Hr pops up- but then he dismisses it. 

He’s now just as curious as Hermione. Harry has always gotten along fine with Viktor.

With both of them haranguing him, Harry confesses at the wedding Viktor was checking Ginny out. Hermione is a bit amused, and Ron is LIVID.

‘WHAT?! SHE’S SIXTEEN, THAT PERVERT!’

Harry’s like *THIS!*

‘Ron!’ Hermione cries out in chastisement.

‘What?! Wait a moment…. She was fifteen at the wedding…” At first Ron is disgusted then starts laughing. “Oh my GOD, Hermione………………………… VIKTOR IS A PEDERAST!”

Hermione is like ‘OMG That’s not! I mean- She’s only a year younger than us! And—’

“OHHHHHH HE IS!!!!” He is beaming. Hermione is silent. Ron knows he has won. He has defeated the Krum. Krum will forever be tarnished and known as the pervert weirdo Ron always knew he was. 

Hermione leaves the room ‘you are unbelievable!’

And Ron is like:

‘What was it like to know you’ll never hear about Krum again?’
