On my patreon a Ron/Hermione moment was requested for the prompt ‘whale’- I struggled- but in the end I decided to have them reading Pinocchio to the kids. Btw Pinocchio is hard to spell! D:
My first drawing of him I did the day after I read Deathly Hallows ELEVEN YEARS AGO! :O :
How I feel about this character: Well, book-wise, there’s not much to him at all. I don’t remember him even having a line or physical description. In my mind he’s a curly haired red head, with big brown eyes, an infectious enthusiasm, deep seated loyalty, and kindness. Rose thinks he’s everything that’s good in this world. He idolizes his parents and is very sweet. I have some scenes with him in a fanfic of mine that I haven’t been enthused to work on for a while. 😛
All the people I ship with them: Neville longbottom’s daughter.
My non-romantic OTP for them: Him and Lily- I see them being very close when they’re young, at least.
My unpopular opinion about them: I personally picture him as having some learning disabilities- and this being difficult for Hermione to process.
One thing I wish had happened with this character in canon: Any more time for us to get to know him.
I think it went well! 😀 So in my mind, they don’t have a ‘proper’ date for a bit. The war just ended, there’s funerals and all sorts of crap going on.
I imagine their first ‘real date’ taking place in Australia.
So up until the date, they’re really just coexisting as they usually do- only with a lot more touching, emotional vulnerability, kisses and tender looks. I even imagine they had some unofficial dates just the two of them because Harry was too busy- only they didn’t realize they probably counted as dates because they’re oblivious, and they also weren’t thinking like that.
So, the date itself:
I picture Hermione nervously asking Ron if he wants to get dinner with her that night- and he just sort of smiles incredulously, saying “Wasn’t planning on eating with a hotel porter, now was I?”
“No, I mean for… We could have dinner together as a date.”
“As a date?” Ron suddenly feels a bit nervous. He’s supposed to pay for that, right? He can’t afford a place that’s expensive. Should he dress fancy? Should he get flowers?
“If you don’t want to–” she begins.
“No, I want to!”
So! I think the first 20 minutes or so were stilted for a bit, because they know how to be together, but don’t quite know how to ‘be a COUPLE’ in public. Ron is overthinking things and trying to be extra chivalrous– He pulls out her chair, has her sit on it before it’s close to the table, then realizes it’s hard to move when she’s sitting on it already, ends up almost pushing her OUT of the chair. Hermione suddenly can’t think of anything to say and starts reading the menu as if it’s a very precious document that must be closely studied.
They look across the room to see another couple on a very obviously bad first date, and start observing the other couple and providing false dialogue for them. This helps them start to laugh a bit at themselves a bit and after that they have a marvelous time, walk along the beach a bit and find some shells, and end the evening with a kiss at Hermione’s hotel room door. Then they go into their rooms, but realize they never closed the adjoining door, so they laugh and then just hang out like old times, which they both prefer to dates, truth be told.
All the Weasleys (plus Harry and Hermione) having dinner at the Burrow before the Quidditch World Cup. And yeah, I should have out it outside, as that’s what they did, but I forgot that- so 😛
Finally back in the swing of things. It’s been almost a year since I inked, so I feel like the first few I posted were a bit rough. 😛
Thank you norman rockwell for being the basis for this pic. 🙂
I think this is my first pic of ALL the weasleys and the trio in one scene! 😀
1 How do they fall asleep? Wake up? Any daily rituals?
They don’t turn in at the exact same time every single night. If one of them has stuff to work on, they each are prone to stay up a bit to do it. Hermione is very prone towards this. Ron rarely gets in that mode comparatively. Ron is way more likely to stay up late for social reasons than anything like paperwork. He likes a firm divide between work and play, if he can.
On nights where they are turning in at the same time- she typically is reading a bit while he turns out his light and snuggles into bed. A lot of the time he enjoys just cuddling up and watching her read a minute or two. After that he’ll get her to put it down, and they’ll snuggle together a bit and chitchat about random things before they have to call quits on their talking so they can get some sleep.
Ron starts off on his stomach, but always ends up sprawled on his back and snoring. Hermione is a side sleeper who stays in that position for the most part.
Hermione immediately responds to her alarm and has a rigid morning ritual where she does everything in the exact same order every day. Ron isn’t rigid in his schedule at all when they’re younger- parenthood changes that a bit- but unless he has a pressing matter, he likes to play it by ear. Shower in the morning or night? Eh, whichever he needs. Sleep in? If he can he wants to- especially as an Auror where he has weird scheduling stuff with night raids and such.
They always do a peck of some sort in the morning before they part. They always say ‘love you’ before they go to sleep. Ron is more prone to give such affirmations during the day to her if she’s about, vs Hermione isn’t as freewheeling with affectionate words.

What are they like in the bedroom? Any kinks/fetishes/turn-ons? Anything they won’t do?
How do you think Ron and Hermione’s second kiss was?
I think it was comforting, quiet, and filled with love. I headcanon their second kiss being not long after they have that meet-up with Harry at the end of the battle. Ron checks in with his family, then they go to get some sleep in Gryffindor tower. They’re holding hands, and treading up the stairs, when he pulls her into an alcove and the early morning sun is hitting her hair. He just needs to look at her for a bit.
He doesn’t have any doubt anymore about where they stand, while she’s more shy and uncertain as she was the one to kiss him and has been withholding on this end. He puts his hand up to her cheek and rubs away a bit of grit there, just sort of beholding her- then quietly kisses her and tells her how glad he is she’s ok. He might get a bit raw then, emotionally, because he came so close to losing her and just lost Fred, and she gets overcome and has to kiss him their third time with fervor. She needs to show him how they’re alive, and they’re ok. There is so much emotion and love put into that kiss.
They laugh after at themselves and go to gryffindor tower- for a moment they think about going to different dorm steps- but they don’t want to be apart- it’s too frightening a prospect to be alone right after everything they went through. They don’t even clean off really- they just take off their gross jackets and shoes and collapse onto a bed in the boy’s dorm to sleep. Other days or nights this might be awkward or sexually charged- but right now, in this moment- it’s all about comfort and exhaustion.
