HOGWARTS + THE FOUR FOUNDERS PT. 2

Helga Hufflepuff was one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Though she got on well with all her fellow founders, her greatest friend was Rowena Ravenclaw. Hufflepuff helped to build the school and, while the other founders took students based on either ambition, bravery, or intelligence, Helga Hufflepuff took the rest, treating them all equally and teaching them all she knew, though she was particularly known to value loyalty, fair play and affinity for hard work. She brought people from different backgrounds together to help in the building of the school and was known for her charming ways.

Helga Hufflepuff had a gift for Food-related charms, and her recipes are still used as the basis for many Hogwarts feasts. Helga Hufflepuff also arranged for the house-elf contingent to work in the kitchens, giving them somewhere safe to work, where they would not be mistreated or abused

PUFFS: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic is the superior Harry Potter play. Cursed Child just came off as bad fanfic and I never warmed up to A Very Potter Musical – I just felt like they never really GOT the characters and that’s the most important part for me. But the Puffs play is wonderful. They really seemed to understand Hufflepuff house and characters like Dumbledore and I just LOVE it so much.

I didn’t even know this existed (which is sad, considering I’m a Hufflepuff). Anyone got any links for it? I’d like to check it out.

Hufflepuff pride is a very internet based thing, I think. None of the people i know IRL are in Hufflepuff – I even knew one woman who went to WWoHP, got sorted into Hufflepuff and made the person doing the hat do it again until she got something else. It’s random – not even a quiz like on pottermore. And like, all the Gryffindor and slytherin stuff on mightyape sells out so quick, but hpuff merch languishes there for ages.

Hogwarts Mystery game proves that this ish is false. I’ve seen more people rep Hufflepuff in their posts than ever. I also know a lot more Hufflepuffs than I do my own house (Gryffindor).

I think the person who confessed this just wanted an excuse to bash on Hufflepuffs. Which is weird, because I know more Hufflepuffs IRL than any other house.

Helga Hufflepuff Headcanons

  • Helga just looking to the other Hogwarts founders after they had said what they wanted of their students and screaming “FINE I’LL JUST TEACH EVERYONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY DESERVE TO STUDY LIKE ALL CHILDREN DO”
  • Helga getting so attached to her students to the point were she goes to every room to wish them good night
  • Arguing with Salazar almost every day trying to convince him Muggleborn children are as good as pure bloods
  • Picture Helga Hufflepuff refusing to sit in the teachers table and sitting with her students because she wants to spend time with them
  • Helga getting all dirty during Herbology classes and being really happy by doing any kind of hand work
  • Being the most motherly of the founders and taking care of the other 3, even if they don’t want it. Even of Salazar.
  • Helga telling her students all secrets about the dangers of the castle just because she’s afraid they might end up getting hurt, but making they pinky promise they’re not gonna tell anyone else
  • Helga being surprisely close to Salazar despite their differences and getting attached to his students
  • Never allowing anyone to bad mouth her students and immediately taking off house points no matter who they are
  • Teaching her students how to get in the kitchen without being noticed
  • Just imagine Helga Hufflepuff losing her temper and swearing in front of her first years, than looking all shocked at them and saying “if I ever find out any of you repeat it you’re going to have to deal with me”
  • Being terrible at threaten her students and that being her last try because she knows she would hardly be able to do the things the other founders threaten to do, and her students know that as well
  • Never raising her voice when scolding or arguing with any of her students
  • Being hesitant in letting her house join in Quidditch but ends up in the middle of all the students screaming and waving her wand over her head to write signs with fire and cheering for her team
  • Helga being the teacher that knows every gossip about the school even if she doesn’t want to because her students just come to tell her everything and ask for advices. And she just can’t say no

“But how will the students get to class?”

“Everyday. They will figure it out everyday. My students will live in a tower and navigate these stairs every time.”

“The stairs move! This doesn’t seem safe…I think I’ll put my common room in the basement, Rowena.”
