Me: The HP fandom needs to appreciate cross-gender platonic relationships a lot more. Romantic love is not the be-all-end-all for close relationships. We have plenty of examples of purely-platonic relationships between people of different genders in the HP series, and that should be celebrated!
Also me: LUNA AND HARRY WOULD HAVE BEEN SUCH A CUTE COUPLE!
Also also me: Why am I like this?….
Okay, I want to talk about some stuff that happened recently…
I work in retail, and a few days ago, a couple with their young child came in. The man was short, with messy dark hair and glasses. The woman had long dirty blonde hair, very pale skin and enormous eyes. She had their child tied round in a bundle-type thing (you know the sort).
So, my Lunarry/Huna (Luna x Harry) shipper brain was freaking out. That was weird enough.
But then, the VERY NEXT DAY, I was walking down the street, and this old man walked past me. He was tall, with a long white beard and long billowing clothes.
The Harry and Luna facsimiles were bizarre, but then Dumbledore as well?
I mean, I know that I live in the UK, but this is really weird…
Reblogging because another Luna/Harry facsimile couple came into the shop the other day. The guy even had the same glasses as Harry. It was freaky.
It has come to my attention how close Harry and Luna really are, and their ship is so underated!!
Disclaimer: No, I am not saying this ship is better then others; no, I am not saying you absolutely have to ship them. I am not saying Harry only likes Luna or she’s the only one who makes him smile or she’s the only good friend he has(you’d think im exaggerating but their are a lot of people who’ll see it like that), etc.
I’ve never really understood why so many people ship Luna and Ginny- or Linny(?)- and not Harry and Luna. If you, however, don’t get how I could ever ship those two, I have reasons, and I’m going to listen them below!
Luna and Harry are very close, like very close(because apparently repeating something two times mean you really mean it).
Luna is one of the rare people who treat Harry like a regular human being, just plain ol’ Harry; not the famous Boy Who Lived! And I’m guessing that’s all Harry could ask for sometimes. I mean- he has his own problems with the Dursleys(in the beginning, anyway) and Voldermort I think the boy-who-lived attention got annoying at some point(??).
It’s not like he was constantly showered with attention, but still. Students still get excited when they see him(excludingThe Goblet of Fire), and let’s be honest: even Ron(slightly but not really Hermione) got a bit excited when they found out they were talking to Harry Potter.
Luna, however just saw him as Harry(you already said that you idiot). And it was a bit obvious Harry liked that.
Also, they had really good chemistry off screen and book-wise, which was kind of rare with certain characters, even Ron and Hermione at some times. Hell, Harry and Ginny relationship was just… Odd.
Ginny was odd on screen period, but that’ll be addressed in a different post.
Anywho, if you ever noticed, Harry usually had a genuine smile around Luna, has anyone else noticed that?? Or am I just laying way too much attention? Not saying that he gave fake smiles to everyone else(duh!!), just saying.
Sometimes, I think JK chose Luna as Harrys original love interest, but changed her mind. I mean, how close they are is insane!! Then again, friends can be that close to, so maybe I’m over analyzing.
But they did hold hands(next gif).
Anyway, if you’ve gotten this far, you’re one kewl witch or wizard(or non-binary magical being??).
If you want, please leave suggestions on what I should post next(no, it doesn’t have to be harry potter related)!!
With that being said…
Until next time, my friends!
Interesting. I ship Lunarry, but also Linny and Hinny (as well as Harry x Ginny x Luna in a poly ship). Thoughts, everybody?
Speaking of Ron and Hermione, I think that the films were responsible for their instances of iffy chemistry; since the screen-writer for all but one of the HP films (Steve Kloves) had something of a bias against Ron and seemed to want Hermione matched with virtually anyone except the person she canonically fell in love with.
