that’s funny because i’d say the same thing about harry and hermione in the movies … either way, someone (cough everyone) involved with making these movies didn’t like ginny and it’s a fucking CRIME
I wouldn’t mind Luna x Harry as endgame, since their personalities mesh pretty well (which I could never say about H*rmione, but I digress). However, I still think the films should have made more effort with Ginny x Harry, even if it was just for adaptation-sake. Bonnie and Dan should have been given the opportunity to make the pairing seem more built-up (just look at the improvised-on-set kiss between them in DH2, which Dan suggested and Bonnie agreed to).
But apparently a certain screen-writer didn’t like the Weasley family for some reason…

I’m often confused as to why (in fanfiction) Hermione and Luna are often portrayed as really close friends.
I mean, there is a certain suspension of disbelief involved with fanfiction, but I’ve always considered Hermione to have the weakest relationship with Luna out of the golden trio.
Harry and Luna just get each other in a way that isn’t really the case with anyone-else (also, I’m a Lunarry/Huna shipper, so I love their relationship in-canon as well).
Ron and Luna are a fond BROTP of mine. I like how Luna is appreciative of Ron, and always makes it clear that she enjoys being around him (so much so, that I suspect she had a crush on him in OOTP). For his part, Ron definitely appreciates Luna even if he doesn’t really understand her like Harry does.
But Hermione? Aside from that brief bit in HBP where Luna comforts her, the two aren’t all that close. Sure, they are reasonably friendly with each other, but (to me) they always come across as more… close acquaintances than friends. I don’t know whether that’s just my personal opinion on the matter, but there you go.
What do you all think? Am I just over-thinking this, or am I onto something?

started when she met him the year after).
Ron was super jealous
when Harry and Luna started dating, but he wasn’t sure who he was more jealous
of. However, Ron was pleasantly surprised when they both confessed to him later
that day.
Ron’s ears go bright
red whenever Luna and Harry kiss him on the neck.
Luna and Ron are both
great at cuddling Harry if he has any nightmares.
Harry and Ron like
giving Luna piggyback rides.
Luna is surprisingly
ticklish, which Harry and Ron were delighted to discover.
Neither Luna nor Harry
can get over how gorgeous Ron looks after he’s woken up. Especially when his
voice is all croaky from lack of use.

Muggle romantic-comedies to Ron and Luna. Both of them started crying when they
first watched ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, which Harry thought was adorable.
Ron was shocked to
discover that both Luna and Harry love making dirty jokes. However, he found it
hard to complain after one especially…er, enjoyable evening.
Harry and Luna both
insist on calling Ron ‘the king’ whenever they’re in a public place. Ron
blushes everytime.
Luna squeals in delight
whenever Ron and Harry kiss her neck.
One morning, Ron woke
to find that Luna and Harry had hidden his clothes. Ron suspected where they’d
been hidden, but enjoyed teasing Harry and Luna as they stared at him (an apron
was involved at one point). Luna and Harry promptly decided to avoid repeating
this prank, as they both felt very weak at the knees.
Ron is the big spoon,
Harry is the middle spoon, and Luna is the little spoon.
“Personally I think you look a bit more devil-may-care this way, but it’s up to you” when Harry’s face is all bloody and his nose is messed up
especially because just a second earlier Malfoy is smirking, “Nice face, Potter” and Luna immediately springs to his aid, even complimenting him and being so playful with it she actually makes Harry forget the whole ordeal with Malfoy if only for a moment. And it’s such a Luna thing to do.
And he trusts her okay he trusts her to fix his nose the most central part of a person’s face even though she’s only done toes but, “how different are they, really?“
but he just shrugs and leaves it in her hands because he trusts her. Why wouldn’t he?
and my favorite part is that he even asks her, “How do I look?” and you can hear and see just a hint of flirtatious undertones in his movements and voice and she just smiles at him.
“Exceptionally ordinary.” to hell with “the boy-who-lived”, to hell with “handsome” or “cute” or anything else Luna could have gone with here or what any other girl would have said, Luna compliments him in the best way possible by recognizing that he’s just him and that him is exceptional just the way he is.
What a perfect line. What a perfect scene. What a perfect OTP.
remember when harry couldn’t produce a patronus and luna told him “We’re all still here. We’re still fighting” and gave him the strength and hope he needed?
