All good though. Emma Watson is still Movie Hermione, but in the books, my Hermione is black.
I don’t have anything against black Hermione or black people in general, but you’re overthinking this possibility. Its like saying: “oh, she is ginger because she is British”. Hair alone can’t describe a person. I have a friend, who is the whitest girl imaginable, but has very bushy hair. Let’s all stick to our headcanons and not jump into conclusions 😘
It isn’t about overthinking, it’s more about relation. I thought this when I first read SS in 97 due to the fact that I was that bushy big haired girl. And so were a lot of black girls around me. The person who said that wasn’t trying to be negative about it. She probably relates just like I did. There isn’t anything wrong with her thought process. It isn’t jumping to conclusions at all. I didn’t meet a white girl with Hermione hair until 10th grade. There isn’t anything wrong with her nor I liking Hermione being black.

Bushy hair that can only be tamed by magic is 4c type hair. Tell me why a muggle white girl couldn’t find hair products to tame her hair until she found and made her own product will NEVER ADD UP.

Nah she used that Potters product Sleakeasy. Which also.makes you wonder was Harry and his family POC too. Because Sleakeasy sounds like a temporary relaxer to me. Relaxers are black people business.

I’m still baffled by that ‘she is ginger because she is British’ comment. As a dark-Brit, I can assure you; ginger hair is not that common over here. In fact, ginger-haired people are such a minority (outside of Scotland) that ginger jokes are still very common.
Now, if you had said, ‘she is unable to not sound sarcastic when expressing happiness because she is British’, you would have been on to something…
But yeah, I see Hermione as black too.
