that david yates quote about the seventh movie regarding harry and hermione is so weird to me bc in the books by that point the canon pairings were obvious and it was canon that harry was in love with ginny and that ron and hermione were in love with each other. even if u didnt ship them, it was obvious. why would harry and hermione randomly fall in love because ron left them? and why didnt jkr mind them inventing a love triangle and discussing it like its canon? lol

(Anon is talking about this post. I think lol https://ronandhappiness.tumblr.com/post/180893775744/kloves-shit)

Eh. A stupid comment about a stupid scene. In the books, there was no dancing scene. There was no such thing as “Harry trying to make Hermione feel better” because newsflash: Harry’s not emotionally receptive to Hermione’s feelings. There was no “almost kiss” , no “it might have been.” There was only “We are siblings and we both love Ron Weasley.” If the filmmakers didn’t have a boner for H*rmione, they would’ve just scrapped the dancing scene and made room for Dudley’s redemption, but they didn’t because…fanservice.

They were stupid enough to believe that something would happen between Harry and Hermione and made a build-up to a possible Har/mione endgame. Obviously, the delusional shippers/movie fans got their hopes high, so they had to give them something. (A cringey dancing scene wasn’t enough, apparently. Harry and Hermione had to each other’s faces as well, while Ron and Hermione were only allowed to get a badly staged kiss.)

Don’t even get me started on J.K Rowling. She’s so gullible. She completely forgot what she wrote in the books and got influenced by the filmmakers’ H*rmione agenda. They gave Romione’s dance to H*rmione, and the fact that JKR approved of this is embarrassing and unforgivable. Lmao, fuck them all.

The reason why I hate the Harmione pairing so much is because thanks to it, we were robbed of Rupert Grint’s amazing acting, oh and also robbed of an adaptation of those goddamn books.

All we got was Kloves’ high-budget wanking fantasy.

I’ll never forgive Kloves for his BS and Rowling for allowing it to happen. If I was her I wouldnt have stood for it. I would have found someone else to do it, or did it myself.

Not only was all the H*rmione baiting rude to people who actually liked the book characters, but it was rude to people who liked the H*rmione ship too. It could never happen due to the films having to roughly follow the canon-plot, but the film-makers inserted H*rmione stuff nonetheless. It built-up the idea that the two could get together, even though that could never happen. Putting it in the films preventing H*rmione shippers from enjoying it in an AU capacity, and made them hope that it was possible when the film-makers knew they could never follow through on it.

I’ll never be over the fact that Rupert Grint basically got sidelined for an entire decade simply because the production higher-ups had an agenda against Ron and insisted on inserting build-up to a pairing that was never going to have a conclusion.

Seriously, I never seen such fragrant under-use of brilliant acting talent as what happened with Rupert Grint in the HP films (especially considering the amazing character that Rupert wanted to do his best to adapt). It will forever be my biggest stumbling block to enjoying the HP film series.

It’s like the film-makers were purposely dangling Rupert in front of us, going “oooh, you like this actor? You like the character that the actor really wants to portray well? You want a healthy, well-rounded character who shows someone can learn from their mistakes and be amazing despite everyone telling them they were useless? You want to see that- WELL, SCREW YOU ALL, YOU CAN’T HAVE IT!

Rupert deserved better, and so did Ron.

Someone reblogged that ‘HP ships wars’ second round post, asking why anyone could possibly vote for Romione over H*rmione, because Ron and Hermione are apparently an “awful” couple, and that Harry and Hermione would make way more sense.

I’m like… well, judging by the fact that over a thousand people voted for Romione compared to barely a couple hundred voting for H*rmione, I’m guessing most people who voted don’t agree with you.

Presumably the majority of people voting on it agreed with Harry when he said that he loved her “like a sister”.

But what do I know, eh?

how about some daddy ron headcanons. i just love the fact that he’s a father now because ron is just so sweet & caring as evidenced by his friendship with harry. he’d be such an amazing dad.

Certainly! Hope you like these!

Ron started weeping happily when he held Rose in his arms for the first
time.

Both Rose and Hugo loved Ron reading them bedtime stories. He was really
good at doing all the voices. Hermione used to watch her husband fondly from
the doorway; since he was so wonderful with their kids.

Ron often used to give his kids piggyback rides on the way home from
school (Hermione really wanted them to have some muggle schooling, and Ron
agreed).

Half the mums at Rose’s nursery had a crush on Ron. He was oblivious,
and thought they were just being nice. To be fair to them, most people thought
Ron was adorable around his kids.

Ron sung ‘English Rose’ to Rose every night before she went to sleep,
right up until she went away to Hogwarts.

Ron often brushes Rose and Hugo’s hair for them. They’d inherited their
mothers enormously bushy hair (albeit in vivid red colours), and Hermione knew
from experience that Ron was brilliant at untangling the knots.

Hermione is more of a disciplinarian than Ron is, whereas Ron in the fun
parent.  Ron’s focus was always on his
loved ones, so it made sense when he became a house-husband.

Hermione often came back from a day at the Wizengamot to find Ron
reading their children one of Hermione’s childhood novels while he cooks their
dinner. Her heart melts everytime.

Whenever Rose had a muggle football match at primary school, Ron would
be cheering her on from the sidelines.

Hugo displayed an early aptitude for acting, so Ron would take him to
acting lessons, and watch his performances with happy tears in his eyes.

Hermione would often spend hours just watching Ron having fun with their
kids. He’d often pretend to be a horse so Rose and Hugo could ride on his back.

Ron taught both his children to fly. Rose took to it fairly quickly,
although Hugo was a little shy at first. Within a few weeks, however, all three
of them were happily zooming around (a slightly-wary Hermione would observe
from the ground).

According to rumour, Hugo was conceived because Hermione got a little… carried away after Ron spent the day
making a new cot for their nursery. Ron can neither confirm nor deny these rumours,
but he goes bright red everytime the matter is mentioned.

Ron Weasley as the best dad ever, everyone.

Thanks for the ask, @whatifdestiel! Hope you liked these!

do you have any ace trans boy ron & ace trans girl hermione headcanons?

Of course! Since you didn’t specify whether you meant asexual,
aromantic, or both; I’ve decided to go with asexual.

Ron had always felt a bit unusual. His mother had been so happy when he
was born, squealing ‘finally; a daughter!’. But Ron didn’t feel like a
daughter; he hated wearing dresses, and was always envious of his brothers for
getting to wear jeans.

Ginny had felt the same way, but the opposite. She didn’t mind dresses,
and would happily give Ron the jeans mum gave her. They were roughly the same
size.

At first, their mum simply thought Ron was a tomboy, but after a while,
they started to realise what was going.

Ron and Ginny came out as Trans when Ron turned nine. Both their parents
gave them hugs, and assured them that they loved them regardless (they just
wanted their children to be happy). All of their brothers made sure to look out
for them (with Percy even drafting progressive laws for when he got into
government).

Meanwhile, in Hampstead, Hermione Granger was getting sick of being
given jeans to wear. She wanted to wear skirts, and stay in with books instead
of running around the garden getting muddy. She didn’t enjoy being referred to
as ‘The Granger’s son’.

Being Hermione, she read up on the subject. She progressed from biology
books in her parents’ bookshelf to books about theory about gender identity
from a local library. Eventually, she understood.

Hermione came out as Trans shortly thereafter. Both her parents assured
her that they’d support her no matter what, and that they loved her. Hermione
smiled as she wept happily into her mother’s shoulder.

First year at Hogwarts. Harry was immediately supportive of Ron, and
Hermione after they become friends. Dean, Seamus and Neville were all
supportive too; and always made sure to not make Ron feel uncomfortable in
their dorm.

Draco Malfoy was still a jerk, but he always called Ron and Hermione by their
preferred pronouns. It wasn’t much, they agreed, but it was something at least.

When puberty began to hit, Ron and Hermione were baffled by all those
around them. Why was everyone being so weird round each other, all of a sudden?
Why were so many boys talking about girls in that way? And vice versa. It was
so… odd.

Whenever other boys asked Ron who he wanted to sh*g, he looked confused
and said ‘No-one’. The other boys gave him a weird look, but Harry clapped Ron
on the back in support, and glared at the other boys to drop the subject.

Ron tells Hermione about this, and verbally wonders whether there is
something wrong with him. Hermione says that she doesn’t think there is
anything wrong with him, and (after all) she’s like that as well.

Ron and Hermione trying to research the topic in their spare time, and
eventually coming across the term ‘Asexual’ in a muggle book on sexuality.

Ron and Hermione both feeling really happy that they have something in
common that no-one seems to have.

Ron and Hermione starting to worry in fourth year, because they’re now
aware of how much they fancy each-other, but it’s… not in the same way
everyone-else goes on about their crushes.

Both of them despairing because they don’t think the other will fancy
them, since they don’t realise asexual don’t automatically mean aromantic as
well. Both of them also being confused because ‘how can I be asexual if I fancy
them as well, even if it’s not in that way?’. And how does that also relate to
them both being trans, as well?

Ron and Hermione eventually letting their feelings become more open as
sixth year draws to a close, and eventually becoming a couple after the war
ends.

Ron and Hermione having a talk where they reinforce that they both love
each-other but not really in a sexual way. Both of them being happy that the
other loves them.

The two of them researching some more in the muggle world, and coming to
an understanding that asexual doesn’t automatically entail aromantic. Both of
them being really happy about knowing this.

Ron and Hermione being themselves, and being supported and loved by the
people they care about.

Trans ace Ron and Hermione, everyone.

Thank you for the ask, anon! Hope you liked those!

romione featuring hermione finding out about past ronarry

so the Golden Trio is redoing their 7th year at Hogwarts.

by this point Ron and Harry have broken up but remained very close friends. Nothing could ever really tear those two apart besides death & maybe not even that.

And Hermione and Ron; well they’re together now. They have been an official couple since the ron saved the house elves in the battle of Hogwarts.

The two of them (Ron and Hermione) are talking about their past relationships and crushes when ron casually mentions that he and harry dated for about 6 months in 4th year.

“Wait, what?” Hermione was shocked. “Why didn’t i know about this?”

“You didn’t know?” Ron asked. He was genuinely surprised. He had thought he & harry made obvious. But maybe Hermione was a bit more oblivious to romance related stuff than he had thought. After all it took her years to figure out he fancied her.

“Of course i didn’t know, Ronald!” Hermione exclaimed. “I didn’t know you were gay!”

“No, Hermione! not gay. Bisexual, like Harry & Ginny are.” Ron corrected her.

“Oh.” Hermione knew a bit about LGBTQ+ community since she had several friends part of it. Now she added her boyfriend to long list of queer friends she had.

She was having a bit of an internal freak-out though because what if Ron still had feelings for Harry? What if he left her to be him? Of course Harry was with Ginny now? But what if something changed?

Ron must have noticed because he wrapped his arms around her in a big bear hug.

“Don’t worry, Hermione.” he said. “I like Harry pretty well, he’s my best mate. but i’m in love with you now. not him. I’ll always be in love with you & I’ll always want to be with you. You’re my soulmate, Hermione; and i want to spend the rest of my life making you happy.”

and Hermione believed he meant every word.

Lovely! Thank you so much for submitting!

Bold of you to assume Hermione wouldn’t take every opportunity to snog Ron senseless.

bold of you to assume that Ronald Bilius Weasley isn’t already senseless at all times

Bold of you to assume that I haven’t re-read the books as an adult, and realised that Ron is actually very intelligent, a master of strategy, and a brilliant friend who is more emotionally-intelligent that people give him credit for. But go off, I guess.

Word of advice, mate; don’t comment this to someone on the Ron Weasley Defence Squad. It’s probably gonna come back to bite you on the arse…
