“We sat down and had a chat. Having met Rupert Grint, I based one of our lead characters, Charlie Cavendish, around certain qualities that I saw in Rupert: this guy who’s really funny, smart, very modest – and super talented.” – writer Alex de Rakoff of Snatch TV. (2017)
Rupert is now such a respected actor that screen-writers are creating characters based primarily on Rupert’s own personality. That’s a sign that he’s avoided getting type-cast as the ‘generic funny sidekick’. Good on you, Rupert.
Also, I couldn’t help but smile when it said about Rupert’s modesty; he’s such a understated person and I love that he’s known for having a smaller ego than other actors.
obviously rupes hair is gorgeous and i love it all ways, but his recent look for snatch i think really suits him. its just long enough to be scruffy and his “classic style” but short enough to be more sophisticated and show off that handsome mug
As a Mod, I love Rupert’s haircut in Snatch. I just think it frames his face really well.
what happened to rupert grint? where did he go? like Emma and Dan are still acting and kind of in the public eye and we know what they’re up to but Rupert?????? where are you?????
(I mostly picked this gif because he looks really good in it ha!)
*cracks knuckles* Here we go again. Rupert Grint has not fallen into the dark pit of unemployment. Nope.
Has done numerous films (both leads and supporting): Into the white – The necessary death of Charlie Countryman – CBGB – Moonwalkers
Voice work: Postman pat – Unbeatables – We are Aliens – Tom Gates books
Stage work: has been in the critically acclaimed ‘MOJO’ on the West End and within the same year has been in the star studded Broadway play ‘ It’s Only A Play’ alongside the likes of Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Megan Mullaly etc.
TV: Is currently leading, not 1 but 2 shows. ‘Sick Note’ will start airing this november on sky 1 where he stars alongside Nick Frost. A second season has already been filmed as well. The other show is ‘Snatch’, of which the first season is the most viewed original drama ever on the platform it’s playing (Crackle). They’re about to film season 2 and word on the street is, is that the show has been renewed up to 5(!) seasons already.
So with filming both ‘Sick Note’ and ‘Snatch’, he’s pretty much been working 8 months out of 12. Not to be petty (lol I am), Emma might have a big disney film (that rides on both the disney and Hermione nostalgia) and feminism to keep her in the news but that girl hasn’t filmed anything or done any acting since finishing that terribly acted ‘The Circle’ film. Which wrapped october 2015. That’s 2 years. Imma just saying.
UPDATE
‘Sick Note’ season 2 has just finished airing on Sky 1. Season 2 of ‘Snatch’ is ready to binge on September 13th (in the UK on October 9th). After finishing season 2 of ‘Snatch’ in May, Rupert started work on the highly anticipated Agatha Christie adaption of ‘ THE ABC MURDERS’ the following month. He is co-lead alongside John Malkovich. This will air in 3 parts on BBC 1 around Christmas, Amazon has the US rights.
Hollywood: Hmm. The Potter films are drawing to a close. Which of the three main actors should we try and cast in more films?
Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson: Rupert is the best actor.
David Yates: Rupert is a ridiculously talented actor. He’s gonna go far.
Alfonso Cuarón: Rupert Grint is the future star of the HP film series.
Every other actor involved in the series: Rupert Grint is the breakout talent of the films.
That one extra from the wedding scene in DH part 2: Rupert Grint is going to go down in history as one of the best actors of his generation.
Hollywood: Seriously? Nah, that guy’s never gonna amount to anything.
~A decade later~
Rupert Grint: [Now considered one of the greatest actors of his generation, currently working in multiple different projects in dramatic and comedic roles, producing one of the series he’s working on, nominated for numerous awards for British television and film, is constantly getting better as an actor, and has a public image that many other actors would kill for]
Hollywood:We done goofed, didn’t we…
I didn’t know he was continuing to act, lol. I just know about the ice cream truck thing.
Yep. He’s actually been working virtually non-stop for the past ten years. He’s just finished filming an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s ‘The ABC Murders’ along John Malkovich, and has been nominated for a national television award in the UK for his acting work in ‘Snatch TV’ (which he also produces). But most people (especially those outside of the UK) think he hasn’t acted since HP. I blame that on the media, since they largely ignore him compared to Dan and especially Emma.
…Please tell me that it will air in the US
@phantoms-lair Well, it’s being made for the BBC, so I’m guessing it should be on BBC America. Not 100% sure though.
August 21 – Day 4: Favourite projects of all kinds
theres not 1 project rupe has done that i dont adore, he has such good taste in the projects he chooses
