Hi! No, it’s okay. I don’t mind. But I hope you don’t mind me taking my time while answering these 🙂
002 | Send me a ship and I will tell you:
LINNY
when or if I started shipping it: Just recently tbh.
my thoughts/what makes me happy about them:
They have good potential. In canon, Luna likes Ginny very much and talks about how nice she is, while Ginny would happily destroy anyone who says mean things about Luna. They are such a pure, fluffy ship. I love the idea of Ginny ranting about things that piss her off, and Luna happily listening to her rants. In return, Luna talking about her theories and Ginny genuinely listening to her, and treating her with respect. I believe that Luna can bring out the blushing, sweet, and soft side of the normally fiery, sarcastic and stubborn Ginny Weasley. I also like the idea of Luna becoming fierce, and more confident, while spending time with Ginny. There’s a lot they can learn from each other.
What makes me sad about them: It makes me sad but I have to mention that Luna/Ginny being BFFs is entirely fanon. Ginny does call people out for bullying Luna, and Luna likes Ginny very much. However, if they spent a lot of time together, I’m sure Luna wouldn’t say things like, “It’s been lonely without the D.A” or “I liked the meetings. It was like having friends.” I do love the idea of them being best friends, but let’s not give Rowling credit when she doesn’t deserve it.
Things done in fanfic that annoy me: Sometimes, people tend to make Luna look foolish, and I dislike that. She’s not an idiot. Stop treating her like one.
Things I look for in fanfic: I’m not very picky about Linny fan fics, but I do prefer fluffy ones.
My kinks: n/a
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Luna? Happiness. Ginny? Harry of course!
My happily ever after for them: I would love the idea of them being a couple (with Harry in the picture of course), but I hope they are best friends, even if they don’t end up together.
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you
GINNY WEASLEY
How I feel about this character: I like Ginny. She is the queen of the Underdogs. She’s popular, pretty, and athletic and she’s allowed to be all those things. She also has a temper, can destroy you with her words, can be insensitive and has a big mouth. However, I do think that she was tilting towards Sue-dom in HBP, but not enough for me to start disliking her (thank goodness!) Copy pasting this from another post but I’m very protective of her because in my experience, I’ve seen a lot of shit thrown in her way from the militant shippers and movie fans. I’m the first in line to defend her from people who call her a Mary Sue or a fangirl. I would launch myself at anyone who dares to say that she’s unworthy of Harry Potter. I’m ready to explode if anyone accuses her of using a love potion, of being an adulterer or abusive wife or whatever crap they’ve recently added to the “Crappy Theories We Have Created About Ginny Weasley Because We Are Bitter That Our Garbage Ship Is Not Canon” list. (Sorry, I don’t keep track.)
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Harry Freakin’ Potter, and Luna Freakin’ Lovegood.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Ginny/Neville.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I think she deserved to be called out in HBP for talking shit about Ron making out with Muriel’s photograph.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish we could’ve seen more of her hobbies/interests apart from Quidditch and being a smart-mouth.
My OTP: Ginny/Harry
My OT3: Luna/Ginny/Harry. Where both Luna and Harry are in love with Ginny.
Luna always seemed to know where she needed to be. She felt it the moment she was supposed to help. It was like a tiny push in the right direction.
Ginny was curled up on their bed, wearing one of Fred’s worn out t-shirts. She wasn’t crying, but it was only through willpower alone. When Luna crossed the room toward her, Ginny pulled her knees tighter up to her chest, one arm hugging her legs and the other under her pillow.
“Wanna dance?” Luna asked.
Ginny squeezed her eyes closed. “There isn’t any music.”
It wasn’t a strange way to answer such an out of place question, but Ginny sounded so detached. Luna reached over to Ginny, brushing her hair out of her face. Once she tucked the strands behind Ginny’s ear, she backed away and asked again.
“Will you dance with me?”
Ginny sobbed; she was hugging herself too tightly to get enough air, “There’s no music.”
“No, there isn’t,” Luna said. She stayed back, out of Ginny’s space but didn’t leave. She had all the patience in the world when it came to Ginny. Luna understood grief; she also knew when grief was pressing in too close.
A minute later, Ginny pulled herself up. Looking at Luna with red-rimmed eyes, she nodded. Luna took her by the hands and pulled her to the middle of the room. They held each other close and swayed softly. It was less of a dance and more of a hug in motion, but they kept on moving, arms around one another, Ginny’s head resting on Luna’s shoulder.
“Thank you,” Ginny whispered.
Luna answered her with a kiss to the top of her head, and they kept right on dancing.
Yesss Linny that’s my jam. (Also this turned out longer than a drabble it’s like 1k words oops sorry not sorry.)
Prompt: “Hey! I was gonna eat that!” Based off of this post.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ginny was forcefully awoken when she felt a finger jab into her eyeball. She groaned in frustration and pain, turning to bury her head in a pillow. However, the finger did not let up, continuing to poke the rest of her exposed body until she whipped her head out of the pillow to stare at the person attached to it.
“Oh good, you’re up! The shaking and yelling weren’t working very well, so I thought I’d try poking!” her girlfriend Luna said, a proud smile on her face from finally being able to wake her up. “Now c’mon, we gotta get ready!”
Ginny furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. Her groggy brain couldn’t handle this much in the first 15 seconds of waking up. Back when she was living with the rest of her brothers the short time she had after waking up where they didn’t know she was awake and therefore didn’t bother her was bliss.
“Get ready for what?” she asked after her brain finally processed the words that had come out of her girlfriend’s mouth.
“Don’t you remember? Harry, Ron, and Hermione all had to go to Hogwarts to give the kids some motivational speech, and Draco’s at tea with his mom, so we get to take care of Teddy for the day!”
“Oh yeah,” Ginny said, just now recalling that conversation she had had over the phone with Hermione a few days ago. It’s a good thing Luna remembered things much better than her. “When’re they dropping him off?”
“Should be any time now! C’mon, we gotta get dressed! And don’t worry, I already made your coffee!” Luna reached behind her and grabbed Ginny’s favorite mug off of her nightstand, casting a quick reheat charm before handing it to her.
“Thanks, Luna,” Ginny said appreciatively, taking a sip of her coffee. She was able to take a few more sips until Luna finally got impatient enough and pulled her out of bed.
Reluctantly she followed and allowed Luna to lead her to the kitchen, where she had apparently already made Ginny a bowl of cereal. She took a seat and began to eat as Luna excitedly paced the kitchen.
“Sweetheart, relax,” Ginny said, smiling fondly.
“But I’m so excited Ginny, I can’t help it! I love kids!” Luna said, now bouncing a bit.
As if on cue, the doorbell rang throughout their house. Luna whipped her head so fast Ginny was scared she would break her neck. She hurried over and opened the door as Ginny slowly came up behind her.
“Hey guys,” Ginny said, smiling at Ron and Hermione while Luna beamed down at Teddy.
“Hey, thanks again for taking him,” Hermione said. “Molly and Arthur would have but they’re visiting Charlie and it was very last minute.”
“Of course,” Ginny said. “We’re happy to watch him.”
“Alright, well we’ve got to rush babe,” Ron said, glancing at his watch. “Go on in, Teddy. Bye Gin.”
“See you later,” she waved. Teddy stepped inside and stared down at the ground shyly. He was only six and didn’t hang out with Ginny and Luna much, so this was understandable. Luna, however, did not seem discouraged by Teddy’s reluctance to face them.
“Hi, Teddy!” she said brightly. “What would you like to do today?”
He looked up slightly and shrugged.
“Well, we could go to the park, the zoo, or something like that,” she suggested. He shook his head.
“What about baking?” At this he perked up, nodding his head quickly.
“You like to bake?” Luna smiled. “Me too! What do you wanna bake?”
“Cookies!” he said, warming up to Luna. “Chocolate chip kind!”
“Can we, Ginny?” Luna pleaded, looking over at her girlfriend.
Ginny laughed. “Sure we can!”
So she and Luna got out all the ingredients and supplies and set everything up. Ginny found a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe and they all got to work.
Teddy was in charge of pouring everything in after either Luna or Ginny measured it out, and he was quite proud of himself when he successfully cracked both eggs with no shells. After everything was mixed together (also done by Teddy), they all helped form balls out of the dough and Ginny put them in the oven.
Ginny went to make a pot of tea while Luna and Teddy sat in front of the oven together to watch the cookies bake. She smiled to herself as the whispered together, only interrupting their conversation to hand Luna her mug.
When the cookies were done baking it was Ginny who took them out, reminding the other two that they had to wait for them to cool. Apparently watching cookies cool was not nearly as fun as watching them bake, so Teddy suggested they go watch a movie.
About 20 minutes into the movie Ginny deemed the cookies cool enough, and they all went into the kitchen to grab one. Immediately Ginny went to grab the one with the most chocolate chips, but Luna snatched it first.
“Hey! I was gonna eat that!” she said, glaring at Luna, who shrugged playfully while sneakily handing the cookie to Teddy and grabbing another.
Ginny smiled and grabbed another one, and they went back in to watch the rest of the movie. Then it began to rain, so they all pulled out some blankets and hot chocolate and ate through half the batch while having a movie marathon. Ginny and Luna were cuddled together on the couch while Teddy sat atop a pile of pillows.
A few hours later the doorbell rang yet again. This time it was Harry, who walked right in, knowing Ginny and Luna wouldn’t mind.
“Harry!” Teddy said, shooting up from his pile of pillows to attack Harry with a hug. “We baked cookies!”
“Did you?” Harry asked, smiling down at Teddy. “That sounds awesome! Did you have fun?”
“Uh huh! Can I come back again?”
“I’m sure that can be arranged.” He looked up and smiled at Luna and Ginny. “Thanks again, guys.”
“Of course,” Ginny said. “We’re happy to have him, and Teddy’s welcome back whenever he wants.”
“Alright well we’ve gotta go, Draco’s back from tea with his mother and I’m sure he’s gonna wanna talk about it. Say bye, Teddy!”
The boy waved goodbye as they walked out of Ginny and Luna’s house. When the door shut behind them, Luna cuddled in closer to Ginny’s side.
“Hey Gin?”
“Yes, love?” Ginny asked.
“I think I might wanna kid someday.”
Ginny was taken aback slightly, and she thought for a moment before responding. “You know what, I think I might want that, too.”
Summary: Most of Ginny and Luna’s romantic moments seem to happen in their Common Rooms. (I combined three prompts; two from anons and one from @nhasablog to write this! I hope y’all enjoy! x)
Gryffindors were famous for their parties. How stereotypical; the House best known for being loud and rowdy was exactly that on Friday nights after big Quidditch matches or particularly stressful weeks of classes.
A seventh year would usually manage to sneak in something stronger than butterbeer, and they’d have a grand old time listening to The Weird Sisters and playing Exploding Snap.
It was no surprise that Harry, Ron, and Hermione weren’t really the partying type. However, as Harry and Ron were on the Quidditch team, they didn’t really have much a choice when it came to attending, and Hermione suffered through it with them like a good friend. The three of them would usually wind up in a corner somewhere talking over the music. Ginny usually wound up joining them despite her naturally extroverted nature. It was nice that she seemed to enjoy their company.
Since Luna Lovegood was an honorary Gryffindor with her lion hat, Ginny brought her to the party to celebrate with them. Luna didn’t seem like a party person, but she fit right in, staying her usual calm and serene self but not in a way that made her seem uncomfortable or bored. She was simply observing, bopping to the music.
Thank you so much!! Cuddling and fluffiness is like my favorite thing to write thank you for the ask!(I hope it’s alright that I did a couch instead of a bed lol)
Ginny brushed the soot off of her shoulder after stepping through the floo. Surprised not to see Luna on the couch reading a novel like she usually was on Sunday nights, Ginny ventured to the kitchen.
She paused in the doorway to look at her girlfriend for a moment. Half of her blond hair was drawn up into a bun with her wand holding it together.
She was clad in a pair of old jeans, fuzzy socks, and one of Ginny’s oversized Weird Sisters t-shirts. Luna was currently stirring something in a pot while humming and swaying her hips to the tune that was blasting on the radio. Her large pygmy puff plushie earrings swayed along with her head as well.
Ginny walked up behind her and encircled her arms around Luna’s waist.
“Oh! You’re back!” Luna cried, and she turned around to fling herself into Ginny’s arms. “I missed you a lot,” she mumbled into Ginny’s hair and Ginny turned her face to kiss her neck.
Luna pulled her wand out of her hair and Ginny laughed softly as her white-blonde hair nearly covered her face entirely as it fell. Luna set what looked like tomato soup on a stasis charm and tugged on Ginny’s hand.
Ginny followed her into their living room and they collapsed on the couch together.
“Wait, I’m still in my quidditch gear. I’ll be right back,” Ginny told her. She kissed Luna’s forehead causing her to smile and she went to go change.
Once Ginny had changed into a pair of boxer shorts and a large jumper, she went back into the living room. Luna had already fallen asleep, tucked underneath a blanket.
Ginny crawled underneath with her and spooned her from the front. Luna sighed contently and wrapped her arms around Ginny. The two held each other for what felt like hours, doing nothing but simply enjoying the other’s presence.
Ginny moved her hands up so that she could play with Luna’s hair, twirling the strands around her finger. Luna traced patterns on Ginny’s back and pulled her impossibly close.
After a grueling day of training Ginny felt that there was no place she would rather be than this.
“Luna! Have you seen my jumper?” Ginny poked her head around the kitchen door but found it to be empty. The rest of the house was the same, which was a pity because it was starting to get cold and Ginny hated heating charms.
In the end she gave up in favour of rolling into bed. Her wife had probably wandered off into the night, forgetting all about time and space and stealing her spouse’s jumper.
And indeed, half an hour later the backdoor slammed shut and Luna’s humming reached Ginny’s ears. Like always, it made her smile. Luna might mean moon, but she lit up spaces like the sun.
“In bed already? Were the nargles bothering you?” Luna opened the bedroom door and smiled at her burito-roll wife. Ginny pretended to glare when she saw the woman was indeed wearing her favorite, fluffiest jumper.
“No, the cold and lack of affection and jumpers was bothering me.” Gin wiggled her arms out of the blankets and held them open for Luna. “Give it back.”
“Hmmm, your affection?” Luna smiled and crawled onto the bed. “That’s going to take me multiple lifetimes. You always love me so bright.”
“You’re just saying that to make me forgive you for stealing my jumper.” Ginny tried to give her wife a stern look, but she failed when Luna started nuzzling at her neck. She’d always been a complete sucker that. “Well, it worked. Come here love.”
And she wrapped her arms firmly around her wife, and consequently, also her jumper. Luna hummed in her distinct Luna-like manner, and pulled the covers over herself a bit. Gin helped her and soon enough they were a double burito.
“I love you.” Luna muttered into her neck.
“I love you too.”She intertwined their legs and hands and pressed a kiss to Luna’s forehead. She was still cold from outside, giving her a lovely fresh smell of evening air. “Even when you steal my jumpers.”
ginny realized she was bisexual during her seventh year, because she was looking at luna and just like,,,,,,luna is so pretty and wow ginny is into girls. huh
luna’s always known she wasnt straight and has been crushing on ginny for years
they start dating a little before leaving hogwarts
luna goes to all of ginny’s quidditch games and is ginny’s absolute biggest fan
they are the most tactile people in the world. constantly cuddling and hugging and draping themselves over each other
luna wears a soft pink lipstick and loves to kiss ginny all over her face, leaving behind lipstick prints
this takes place in a world without voldemort, or at least that’s how i’m explaining it
Ginny comes to just in time to see her team land and rush towards her, where she must be lying on the grass if their sudden looming height is anything to go by. The referee and Gwenog are rushing over too, their faces pale and Gwenog looking ready to Stun someone. Ginny isn’t sure who though, because it was mostly her fault she fell off her broom.
“Weasley,” Gwenog growls, dropping down beside her. “If you weren’t such a bloody good Chaser.”
“I know, I know,” Ginny groans. The pounding in her head gets louder and seems to migrate outside of it, when she attempts to sit up. She lowers herself back down. “If I weren’t so good, my temper would bar me from anything resembling a professional league. But he was -”
“I do not care if he was insulting everyone you love and everything you stand for, you never, and can I repeat for what feels like the thousandth time, never need to perform a flying. Mid-air. TACKLE.” The rest of the team has assembled around them now, some attempting to look suitably worried, but most of them so used to seeing Ginny bloodied and being shouted at that they are mouthing along to Gwenog’s tirade.
When the ref, a balding middle aged man that Ginny swears she’s never seen before, but has apparently refereed over twenty of her matches, seems confidant that Gwenog is not going to start berating the injured player again, he blows his whistle. Two sharp blasts.
“No,” Ginny begins. “No, no, I don’t need St Mungo’s. I can still fly. I just need someone to help me stand up. I can still sit on my broom.”
He just shakes his head. “Sorry Weasley, no blood allowed on my pitch.”
And just like that she is being levitated off the pitch and carted off to the hospital against her will.
***
Two hours later, Ginny is a minor character in her mother’s worst nightmare.
“Your father and I never get called to the Emergency Room because Ron has got himself hurt -”
“Ron has Hermione and Harry as his emergency contacts,” Ginny mutters under her breath.
Fortunately, her mum doesn’t hear her, too busy with her hands elaborating increasingly angry points. She is working herself up to a full blown Molly Weasley Lecture. Her dad pats her knee – a part of her body that isn’t hurting right now, in this interminable wait for a Healer – and smiles at her.
“Sometimes, I think, it is best not to remind your mother that Percy is the only one of her children unlikely to get himself hurt in the line of duty. A papercut, is perhaps the worst thing that could happen to him at work.”
Ginny snorts. “But maybe we could ask someone to bring out all the Weasley files they have and see who has the biggest one? My money’s on Ron.”
Arthur pulls out a pouch of coins from inside his robes. He opens it and pulls out enough for a pint. “Mine’s on Fred and George. They may be obscure, minor injuries, but they happen with a ridiculous frequency. Drinks on the loser?”
They both laugh, unable to stop themselves even in the face of Molly Weasley’s wrath. Ginny is laughing so hard she keeps having to stop and wheeze in pain, clutching at the ribs she thinks must be broken.
“Oh, this is lovely.” The Healer’s voice seems to float across the room towards them. Ginny looks up to see a woman with a cloud of blonde hair that has not been pulled back in what seems to be staff policy, and a slightly dreamy expression on her face. Luna Lovegood. It’s been ten years since school, but Ginny would recognise her anywhere. “Please don’t stop on my account. Laughter really is the best medicine, and it’s so rarely heard in this building, where it should be heard the most.”
Molly seems incoherent in the face of Luna’s pronouncement, but Ginny beams.
“Luna! How are you?” It suddenly seems like the most important question. Ginny lost touch with most people once she left Hogwarts, unless they were involved in Quidditch or the Weasley family. She was too busy, she told herself, and then she was just out of the habit. But seeing Luna again, she feels seventeen and overwhelmed with her crush. Surely she should have grown out of it, having left it to gather dust for so long.
“In much better shape than you it seems, Ginny. I’ll ask you how you are once I’ve got you healed up.” She ushers Ginny out of the foyer, and into one of the curtained off ‘private’ rooms, leaving Molly and Arthur behind.
“Fair enough,” Ginny smiles. She’s pretty sure she’s still got blood in her hair and grass on her robes, but if Luna is a Healer she’s probably seen worse. And she’s still smiling serenely, moving through spells and sending a glass of some turquoise potion drifting over to Ginny.
“I’ve followed your career in the papers,” Luna says into the quiet. “You’re very good.”
“Thank you.” Ginny ducks her head, and feels her hereditary blush heat up her cheeks. She is used to getting praise from strangers, from Harpies fans and sports writers, from teammates and opponents, but she’s never really gotten used to receiving praise from people she knows. And Luna is someone she used to want to impress. Maybe she still does. “I’d have followed your career, but they don’t tend to write about Healers. Seems silly when you think about it. You’re saving lives.”
“I can tell you all about my work over drinks if you’d like.” The tips of Luna’s ears flush, and Ginny cannot quite believe what’s happening. “My shift finishes in half an hour, and I expect that’s how long it will take your mother to ascertain whether or not I’ve done a good job fixing you up.”
“Yeah,” Ginny grins at her. “Yeah. I’d definitely like.”
AU where Minerva McGonagall has a little less faith in Albus Dumbledore so she does agree to leave Harry at the Dursleys.
But then proceeds to move right in next door with her wife because Albus never said that she couldn’t.
So Harry grows up with two grandmalike aunties next door, who basically finnagle him into living with them in all but name. It’s great, until he gets to Hogwarts because he keeps accidentally calling McGonagall Aunt Min instead of Professor.
The more I think about this the better it gets because suddenly a small biracial orphan appearing on the Dursley’s doorstep is less scandalous and gossip worthy in the
pasty ass white suburbia of Privet Drive, when it’s compared to the elderly lesbian interracial couple who moved in next door.
Okay this has an amazing amount of potential for Harry, but I am very filled with curiosity about Minerva’s wife.
1) Who is she? and more importantly
2) How did this marriage come to pass?
I mean I am all for Minerva McGonagall having had a wife already at this juncture in her life, but consider
1) Utter BAMF who is acknowledged to be out of everyone’s league Minerva McGonagall walking into a Ministry break room full of lady Aurors and the like and saying, “I have a child that needs looking after and a neighborhood full of prats who need scandalizing and will marry the first woman to say yes” and there is a moment’s shock and then the verbal equivalent of half a dozen bridesmaids diving for the bouquet with one clear winner who was a split second faster on the uptake and they end up in love by the time Harry is old enough to toddle properly.
2) The house next door is being sold by the daughter of its occupant who just inherited it and wants nothing to do with Little Whinging except to inflict herself on all the narrow-minded bastards long enough to get a good price for it; when Minerva walks in the door there is a mental adjustment that leaves her swooning (or maybe that’s Minerva) and after tea, dinner, and certain other activities she invites Minerva to live with her instead of selling it.
3) Minerva specifically tracks down the schoolmate she knows to be best at making stupid people regret everything, and asks her to pretend to be her wife, share a house in Little Whinging with her, and help keep an eye on Harry Potter. Both of them solidly overestimated their ability to keep the relationship fake.
She’s married to professor sprout.
Professor Sprout keeps the best garden in the state and her neighbors are utterly livid at their inability to match her horticultural skills, no matter how many expensive landscapers they hire.
Okay, this got better.
I’m sold on Plot ideas 1 & 3. (Especially in light of the fact that IRL Miriam Margolyes is a Jewish Lesbian and would absolutely rock the role!)
I’m never keen on fake dating but I’ll so make an exception (especially if it comes to pass that Pomona always had a huge crush on Minerva and Minerva melts enough to accept “more”.)
