Who would you see as Ron Weasley other than Rupert ?I love Rupert as Ron, no hate towards him. I would see Ron as Froy Gutierrez (I saw something about that on this account a long time ago, I loved it because that is how I imagined him when I read the books.) But of course with red hair and a few more freckles. I’m curious who you’d see other than beloved Rupert.

Hmm. That’s a good question.

I suppose Linus Wordeman (who’s often in fan-castings of the character) would be a good physical fit, but I don’t know whether he’s a good actor.

Joey Richter’s take on the character (whilst brilliant) was more of a satire on the fandom’s perceptions of the character than a straight-up portrayal. I like the BROTP moments he and Harry were given, but it’s not the same (also, it’s difficult to me to see Ron having an American accent).

I haven’t seen ‘Cursed Child’, so I don’t know what Paul Thornley’s like as Ron (although, by the sounds of it, that version of the character is played more for laughs and definitely takes more after the Kloves!Ron than canon!Ron).

Despite Rupert’s lack of freckles and long nose, I honestly see him as the perfect Ron Weasley (even though Kloves gave him virtually nothing to work with, and gave most of Ron’s best moments to Hermione).

harry struggles to keep his voice even “if you have other people you want to be with, you don’t have to spend your time with me. i completely understand.”

ron blinks in confusion, “no i meant today probably isn’t a good day… i mean, it’s halloween surely you…”

“yes i know today’s halloween. what’s special about that?” harry asks, bemused

ron’s eyes widen as he realises something. “don’t you know that your parents died today?” he asks suspciously

and harry just stares blankly at him for a good five seconds before slowly shaking his head. “no… the dursleys never told me… i can’t believe i never knew…”

maybe this explained the funny feeling he got at this time of the year

First, it opens with a pathetic wanking metaphor—boy under his covers in the dark, trying to make something white come out of the end of his wand, hiding his misdeeds from his guardian—that Alfonso Cuaron obviously thought was super clever but is really just ridiculous.

Harry’s practicing Lumos in the first scene, yet scenes later, Vernon points out that he’s not allowed to do magic outside Hogwarts so already we see the level of care that production applied to being even remotely consistent.

Cuaron is entirely focused on *~*puberty*~* and not enough on telling a coherent story. The stylistic choices were beautiful, sure, but presented a pretty backdrop to a movie that was poorly written and acted overall.

The acting is SO bad on so many fronts, seriously. By the time Gary Oldman starts shouting about how he did his waiting it’s like, finally, some good acting at last.

Why are underage wizards NOT allowed to go to the pub on the day upon which underage wizards are allowed to go to Hogsmeade? What a fucking poor business decision.

I saw this movie first with my cousin who had never read the books and when we got out she was genuinely distressed that Harry wanted to live with Sirius because everything was so poorly explained and she thought he was still a criminal. We’re never told WHY Sirius and Peter became Animagi, nor are we told that James became one at all. The origins of the Marauders Map are never explained. Nothing is explained and everything hurts.

One well-cast Expelliarmus can apparently send Snape flying into a four poster bed which then collapses on him.

Sirius trying to reason with Remus as he’s turning into a werewolf with his nonsense speech about how “this heart is where you truly live!”

Remus transformed into fucking Slenderman rather than any kind of discernible wolf.

Did Alfonso Cuaron even READ the book? Like, seriously. The whole film runs like it was made by someone who didn’t have a fucking clue what was happening, and so he decided to arthouse that shit in the hopes that nobody would notice.

I had to reread the series a ton to get the horrible movie portrayal of Hermione out of my head. Movie Hermione made me absolutely hate the character for years until I did a reread. The way the directors and writers (ESPECIALLY STEVE “HERMIONE DICK RIDING” KLOVES!!) made her into this flawless, lion hearted, always taking charge, always knowing what to say, always knowing what to do super child made me sick. I remember seeing the making of one of the movies, and it was told how Kloves went to Rowling and gushed over how much he loved Hermione, and how she was his favorite character, and how he wanted to do her so well. Makes me wonder what Hermione he read about because almost everything( with the exception of her smarts and the fact that she likes to read books ) in that movie was not the Hermione that was in the books. I hope that whenever they do the reboot that NO ONE that was on the team that made the movies is anywhere near it.

Halloween is the beginning of the

Día de los Muertos

– a few days of both death and life- where we celebrate the lives of those who have left us, reconnect with them, and celebrate with our living friends and family.

Harry was able to connect with a new family of friends that day- and it’s beautiful. I headcanon that Halloween becomes a bit of a celebration like that for the Potters and Weasleys (of course, I’m very much just being influenced by my own experience with the holiday…. and then I have my Audrey headcanon- but yeah…)

Brazil did it. Brazil elected a neo-facist, racist, homophobic asshole to govern our country and the consequences about it it’s already happening.

In less than 24h since he’s been elected it’s been hell of fucking earth in Brazil. Countless people have been reported dead all over the country, mainly LGBTQ+. Countless. People parading around cities with their fucking guns (it’s pretty much illegal in Brazil but this asshole is trying to change our law to allow guns, he’s even encouraging parents to give their kids a gun ????), shooting it into the sky in sign of victory. Did you know that one of those bullets killed a child? Yeah. One killed an old lady too. There’s been report of them invading a indigenous village and attacked them. They’ve been saying they are going to kill every single “slut”, “fag”, “dyke”, poor people, Nordestino (people that lives in Nordeste, a region in Brazil, that is mainly against this government), black and homeless people. Aka in the last 24h Brazil felt what is like to live in the fucking Purge.

There’s already people recruiting “good citizens” to erradicate Brazil of “fags and dykes, because now that their master’s been elected, there’s nothing protecting them, they’re not even people.” I kid you not. They’ve created group chats in popular apps to talk about mass shooting the LGBTQ+ community in Brazil. Yesterday there were people waiting outside a queer club to beat anyone that went outside.

Our police enforcement already started to invade college campuses and schools to destroy history books because they think our teachers are indoctrinating us in favor of communism. These history books tells about our 1964 military dictatorship (something we’re very afraid of happening again and we’re pretty sure is gonna happen with this demon in charge). They are trying to say that we choose to elect a military government back then, when in fact was a fucking coup. They’re also trying to get rid of philosophy classes and social studies because they think it only teach us to become communists as well. Basically, they’re all very ignorant and violents and they’re trying to fuck with the only fucking hope we have to our future: education.

You won’t probably hear many of the things I’m saying because I’ve been reading it on social media, and everything we (the opposition) say on social media is basically reported as “fake news” by his voters. But yeah, I can’t count how many videos I’ve saw today of women getting beaten and threatened. Of how many stories I’ve read of people walking the streets and cars pullover poiting guns at them and threaten them. Of people posting pictures of their “victory bbq” with guns spread in their tables close to their fucking meat. Of how many times I’ve cried since his pronouncement, thinking about how I’ve never felt so unsafe in my entire life. Of how I’ll have to be cautious about everything from now on, if I don’t want to become another casualty.
