okay so I love linny & I’m starting to get into drarry but I also like druna & hinny & drinny & lunarry so do you happen to have any headcanons about the 4 of them in a polyamorous relationship?

Hmmm. Well, I don’t really ship Draco x Luna (I always thought they were
related, but maybe I just thought that because of the hair colour), but I’ll
see what I can do. And I can hardly not
do
Drinny headcanons (otherwise @weasleyismyking540 will have my guts for
garters).

(For the purposes of this, Draco Malfoy is effectively a nice bloke with
Draco’s name and appearance. Canon!Draco is a jerk, and I don’t want him
anywhere near the other three in a romantic setting)

Harry and Ginny, of course, were dating. That was fine; they were in
love, after all.

Then Luna Lovegood entered the picture. Well, that wasn’t strictly true.
She had always been there, after all. She’d been Ginny’s friend for ages, even
before she met Harry. Ginny had always been close with her. Ginny had always
insisted to herself that Luna was just a friend, but her arguments always
sounded half-baked. As if she couldn’t quite believe it herself.

Not only that, but Ginny was also very much in love with Harry. But
Harry could tell that Ginny and Luna had something going on beneath the
surface. In the way they looked at each other. He could tell because the same
thing happened whenever he and Luna looked at each-other.

To complicate matters, Draco Malfoy then appeared. He was there, with
that blonde hair, and those intense eyes. Good-looking and he knew it. Harry,
Luna and Ginny all knew it.

Draco was cool as a cucumber. Except when he was around Harry, Ginny and
Luna, of course. The bloke would blush like a tomato. Trip over air. Needless
to say, it was entertaining to watch.

Eventually, Ron and Hermione had to lock the four of them into a room.
Four hours later, the foursome emerged as a poly relationship.

The four of them eventually brought a house nearby Ottery St Catchpole
(Harry, Ginny and Luna wanted to be near their families, and Draco wanted to be
away from his family, so it was perfect).

They had to magically extent the bedroom so that they could fit in a bed
big enough for all four of them to sleep in (Luna suggested bunk beds, but the
others managed to talk her out of him).

Luna had to implement a ‘no more than one in the shower at any given
time’ rule, because the resulting… “events” made them all late for work.

On rainy days, they all snuggle up together on the sofa and watch muggle
movies. Usually rom-coms (Harry takes great delight in seeing the other three
react to them).

All of them are of the opinion that the other three are better looking
than they are (yes, even Draco thinks this).

Their bed once broke during a particularly… enjoyable date night, resulting in a not-very-impressed Ron and a
very-embarrassed Hermione having to magically re-structure and strengthen it
the next day.

Sometimes, Harry and Ginny can’t tell whether it’s Luna or Draco’s hair
stuck in the shower (it’s usually Draco, funnily enough).

Luna works from home (doing artwork), Ginny works for the Harpies, Harry
is a teacher at Hogwarts, and Draco a columnist for ‘Witch Weekly’.

Harry, Luna and Draco always cheer Ginny on during her matches, wearing
dorky t-shirts saying ‘our girlfriend is amazing!’.

Luna, Harry and Ginny always compile Draco’s columns. He blushes
everytime he sees them cutting said-column out of the paper.

Ginny, Harry and Draco have all posed for Luna at some point. And before
you ask, yes they have done life
modelling for her, but that’s really no-one’s business but theirs.

Draco, Luna and Ginny often turn up announced in Harry’s study at
Hogwarts with a picnic. It’s not uncommon for students to see the four of them
sat out on the front lawns in the nicer months of the year.

Ginny likes it when the others kiss her neck.

Luna likes cuddling the others.

Draco likes snogging the others.

Harry likes putting his head in the others laps.

OH MY GOD i read a recent interview with rupert grint about how he almost quit hp and he said “I peaked pretty early, but I’m fine with that. It would be ridiculous to think that you can replicate that level of success. It’s always going to be a challenge, but I’m kind of enjoying that. It’s quite fun to surprise people.” WHY IS HE SUCH A DANG GEM i absolutely love that boy so much like i find that so inspiring ngl like he’s happy doing what he does quietly rather than being in the limelight

I think that was the interview with The Observer that I reblogged earlier today. And I know, right! He’s such a lovely bloke! I’ve always liked the fact that he’s not bothered about fame, and is just in it for the acting. I really admire that about him.

Chiming in on the Evanna discussion; not the same anon as before. I seem to remember (but can’t seem to find) an interview she did where she was asked about her thoughts on nudity on stage and film (probably within the context of Dan having appeared in “Equus”). She said something to the effect of how bodies are just bodies, that she had a lot of respect for people who are willing to show that level of vulnerability on their own terms, and that she’d be willing to do it for the right role.

Fair enough. Like I said, I probably wouldn’t watch it if she did do that. I get very squicky about seeing actors like that (especially female actors, since there’s the whole male gaze thing going on).

Thanks for the message, anon.

If Evanna Lynch ever poses nude or semi-nude (or has a nude scene in a movie), I expect that it will be very classy and artsy and not degrading in any way. She does seem to enjoy stepping outside of her comfort zone, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen in the future. And at the risk of sounding pervy (I’m a girl, btw), she is quite beautiful, so I do think it would be rather pleasant to look at.

If you say so. I’d probably pass out if that ever happened (she is beautiful after all, like you said). But it is true that it would be done very tastefully if it ever did happen. Evanna Lynch is a good actor with a firm understanding of her own mind, so I hope that she wouldn’t be forced into doing something she wasn’t comfortable with.

Tagging in @justsaya and @gaylittlepieceofsh1t for their own thoughts on the matter. Please keep your responses tasteful, of course.

Hey, you’ve said how much better it would’ve been if Ron and Luna dated in HBP instead of Ron and Lavender even if they didn’t end up together, and i absolutely agree. Do you know of any fics where this happens?

headcanonsandmore:

I know, right! It would have made so much sense!

I actually can’t think of any fics like that. However, I do have a fic in the pipeline about that very topic. I can tag you in the post when I publish it, if you like?

Tagging @accio-library @vivithefolle @diva-gonzo and @pynki in on this, just in case any of them know any fics that match that description.

Thanks for the ask, @warriorlid14! Sorry it took so long for me to respond.

@ronandhappiness Nothing’s wrong with Lavender. The problem I have is with the way JK Rowling framed Lavender and Ron’s relationship within the narrative.

In my opinion, JK Rowling had a really messed-up idea about Lavender’s characterisation, and it effected the way she framed the Lavender/Ron relationship in HBP. I’ve discussed this before with mutuals, but Rowling does seem to have a problem with ‘girly’ girls. Lavender gets a pretty raw deal from Rowling just because she engages in activities considered traditionally-feminine. Since Rowling has more respect for Luna as a character, a possible relationship between Luna and Ron would be treated with more respect. It would be less framed as ‘two teenagers snogging in the broom cupboard’ and more ‘two people who appreciate and support each-other’. At least, that’s what I think.

It would also be more of a lesson for Hermione about being more appreciative of Ron. Luna’s way of appreciating Ron was the direct opposite of Hermione; based more on unabashedly showing her appreciation for Ron, and less on ‘I can’t show Ron how much I like, otherwise he’ll suspect I fancy him’.

Hope that helps clear up my thoughts on the matter. 🙂

Okay, but picture Hermione casting her bird spell and it hitting a Protego, because when Harry saw her about to cast he got between her and Ron because seriously Hermione, WTF?

I did always wonder why Harry wasn’t more shocked by Hermione’s bird attack. I mean, people have hypothesised that (since Harry grew up with the Dursleys abusing him) he wasn’t so shocked by physical violence as others might be, but it does seem odd that he wasn’t at least a little shocked when one of his best friends physically assaulted with other.

Thanks for the message, @phantoms-lair

I just saw a gif of the movie version of the canary attack, and it made me realize that they had changed it completely. In the books the birds pecked and clawed at every piece of Ron’s skin they could reach, and it made him bleed and scar, but in the movies they just crashed into the wall around him and left Ron unharmed. No wonder fans doesn’t take the bird attack seriously, if it’s the movie version stuck in their minds. Just another thing the movies ruined

Exactly. But then, did we really expect any film written by Steve Kloves to portray Hermione’s negative actions in a bad way?

The film completely robs the bird attack of any tension. Sure, the intent to harm was there, but they never actually clawed at Ron, so therefore Hermione’s still got a clean slate, right?

If the bird attack was shown on-screen for what it was (a physical attack), it would have been very difficult for the audience to show Hermione any kind of sympathy. In the books, JK Rowling could make it a bit easier by framing it a certain way in the narrative, but it’s very difficult to do the same in a visual medium.

If they had shown the book version of the attack, I very much doubt that the audience would have seen the break-up of Ron and Hermione’s friendship as anything other than ‘Ron staying away from Hermione for perfectly good reasons because she physically attacked him.’

No wonder the film-makers changed it. Can’t have Hermione looking bad now, can we?

Is it weird that I imagine you as a unicorn wearing a waistcoat with like a pair of glasses and a cup of tea you have somehow wiggled between hooves? I would draw that someday when I have the time to

Awww, thank you @gaylittlepieceofsh1t! No, that’s not weird at all; I actually think that’s really sweet. I’ve noticed that I do get called a unicorn quite a lot, so that fits really nicely.

Funnily enough, I do have glasses and drink cups of tea. So you weren’t that far off (and I do own a waistcoat, although I only wear it for formal occasions).

Thanks for the message!

If you can rate the HP cast (the young ones) according to their acting talent (not just their performance in hp, in general), how would you? Who’s the best and who’s the worst in your opinion?

Oooh, I’m gonna anger a lot of people with this answer…

With 1st being best;

  1. Rupert Grint (great in everything I’ve seen him in, very versatile actor with a huge range. No complaints whatsoever. Have yet to understand why he’s not more recognised for his talents)
  2. Evanna Lynch (great in everything I’ve seen her in)
  3. Bonnie Wright (same again. Wish she’d been given more to do in HP. She was virtually wasted until the last three films)
  4. Tom Felton (great in everything I’m seen him in, no problems with him as an actor. People I know have referred to him as ‘desperate’ in his publicity appearances, but his acting I have no problems with.)
  5. Matthew Lewis (great in ‘Ripper Street’ especially)
  6. Daniel Radcliffe (somewhat bland in early HP, but good in a lot of other projects. Works better on stage than on film, in my opinion. Very good at ‘unusual’ roles that make him think outside the box)
  7. James and Oliver Phelps (good in everything I’ve seen them in)
  8. Jessie Cave (good in HP and in other projects)
  9. Alfred Enoch (apparently, he’s very good on stage)
  10. Devon Murray (doing very well as an actor; no complaints)
  11. Katie Leung (haven’t really seen her in much else, but was good in what I did see her in. I think the HP films didn’t give her much to work with, which is a real shame)
  12. Emma Watson (I’m still not sure why she got so much hype during HP when her acting-especially in the last 4 films- was so lacklustre most of the time)

Thanks for the ask, anon!
