(Also, I like having an excuse of putting a photo of her in a post, so that @justsaya and @gaylittlepieceofsh1t will start swooning, because I know they fancy Evanna just as much as I do…)

That’s what I don’t understand. Like last time the two met, Tom Felton’s then-girlfriend got online abuse from some people who shipped him and Emma Watson. Apparently, it got so bad that Tom and his girlfriend ended up splitting.
If it’s in a ‘they’d be cute together’ kind-of way, then I could tolerate it. But when it gets to the level of abusing their actual IRL partners, then it’s gone too far.
‘Chamber of Secrets’ is actually one of my preferred films in the series. Ron is still Harry’s best mate, and Steve Kloves had his dislike of the Weasley family reigned in by Chris Columbus. A lot of the child actors are a lot better (aside from awkward just-broken voices), and it’s slightly more intense than the first film.
Having said that; yeah, Emma Watson’s acting is not that good. I mean, it’s better than in the first film, and isn’t nearly as bad as she was in the last four films, but it’s not brilliant. She’s still a child actor struggling to convey her lines properly.
Rupert Grint, on the other hand? Wow, this guy hit the ground running in PS/SS, and just kept getting better with each film. In COS, you can clearly tell that he understood Ron really well, and was giving the performance his all. He’s easily one of the best young actors in the earlier films (Tom Felton was really good as well). Such a great actor; I honestly don’t understand why everyone made such a big deal about Emma Watson when Rupert Grint was right there the whole time.
He’d probably be a little startled. Happy, yes, but he wouldn’t feel
like kids should want to be him. All he wanted was to have a happy life, and
he’s only just got that since the war finished. And, even then, most people
think of him as this great heroic figure instead of ‘just Harry’.
Upon Hermione being told that?
She’s probably feel honoured. I imagine she’d probably try to act modest
about it, but she can’t help it because she quite likes being complimented like
that. Having said that, she’d probably also insist that she was just helping
out, and that it needed to be done.
Upon Ron being told that?
First of all, he’d probably look over his shoulder to see if the kid was
talking about someone behind him. Then (after Harry grins and Hermione squeezes
Ron’s hand) he starts mumbling about ‘honestly, it’s not that big a deal’ before
the kid cuts him off, stating loudly ‘you’re my hero and I think you’re
awesome’. At which point, Ron’s face goes bright red and he starts spluttering
again. Harry and Hermione then turn to the kid and say ‘he’s our hero, too’.
Ron spends the rest of the day blushing furiously whilst Harry and Hermione
sing his praises.
Thanks for the ask, anon; hope you liked those! (I’m so sorry it took me so long to reply).
Beats me. I don’t really care either way. I’m not going to get involved in fandom wars (as many of my followers will no doubt be aware). I personally don’t like Dramione as a ship, and I stopped shipping Drarry a long while ago (and, even then, it was just in AU fics with a OC called Draco Malfoy).
Since I’ve got involved in the HP fandom, I’ve always been a little suspicious of when Emma Watson posts photos of herself with her former co-stars. Maybe this is just me being jaded, but it does seem a bit like a publicity stunt to me. Although that’s just my personal opinion.
I remember the last time they met; some people who shipped her with Tom Felton ended up sending online hate to Felton’s then-girlfriend (who he later ended up splitting with, possibly due to the online hate). As such, I find it troubling that sections of the HP fandom are like that.
I mentioned this in that thread I posted the other day, but I think that Emma Watson isn’t that close with most of her former co-stars nowadays. Maybe it’s the geographic distance or the different work schedules?
I suppose they could be close friends, but don’t broadcast the fact due to the fan backlash against Tom’s girlfriend that happened last time. I don’t blame them for being quiet about it.
I tend to stay clear of this kind of thing in general. I like it when the other cast members meet up (usually Rupert and Evanna, as well as Bonnie, Matt, Tom and the Phelps twins) since I find their personalities quite friendly. I don’t tend to follow what Emma Watson is doing since I personally find her personality a little grating (and possibly disingenuous, but that’s probably just me).
I don’t know. I’m very suspicious rn. Tom’s new YT series is going to be launched in a week or so and suddenly Emma and Tom are skating together and taking pictures? It’s fishy.
I also find it confusing that Dr*mione shippers have to rely on a F*ltson picture to rise again. (And then they wonder why we accuse them of only liking Emma/Tom.) I like to think that Romione shippers don’t have to rely on a Gr*ntson pic to love our ship. It’s because we actually like our ship. We like Ron and Hermione together. We don’t like the actors together. It’s sad that some ship fandoms can’t tell the difference between two actors and two characters.
That does seem rather coincidental, doesn’t it…
Oh, well. I suppose publicity is something that a lot of actors have to do nowadays. Gotta get trending, and all that. That’s what the kids say nowadays, right? I’m so old…
I’ve always been confused by that too. If anything, Romione shippers tend to distance themselves from the films as much as possible (understandable, considering what the films did to Ron and the Romione pairing). I personally find the Rupert and Emma ship quite uncomfortable. Like, I know they had good chemistry on-screen (when they were allowed to show it) and (from what @pynkihas mentioned on threads in the past) Emma might have had a crush on Rupert during the later films, but I don’t want to conflate the actors with the characters. The idea of it just makes me uncomfortable.
I don’t want to get into a fandom war over this, of course (not my thing).
It’s not coincidental at all. She literally congratulated him in her caption. Not that shippers care of course.
Yeah, definitely. At this point, the only fans left who care about Ron/Hermione are book fans who dislike the movies. (I’m not counting those gullible preteens on IG who are still stuck in their Grinston stage.) As for whether Emma had a crush on Rupert or vice versa, that’s nobody’s business, and I find it hard to be interested in Watson’s love life.
Even I don’t want to start a war. I just wanted to rant about this so thank you for listening to me ^_^
Just a warning to Feltson/Dramione/Tom Felton/Emma Watson fans: this is a conversation between HM and me. I’m not interested in debating this with any of you guys. Go away.
Good point. I suppose shippers will ship regardless of anything else.
That’s very true. Most Romione shippers I know prefer the books to the films. I’m not really on much social media, so I wouldn’t know about those shippers myself. And that is very true; it’s really no-one’s business as to what went on (although I personally find the idea funny that not even the apparently-perfect Emma Watson was immune to the charms of The Grint. Probably just me, though).
No problem; one of my favourite things on Tumblr to hear (or read about) your thoughts on stuff like this. 🙂
I would also like to re-iterate that I don’t have any interest in starting fandom wars over this. I try to keep my blog as positive as possible, and I don’t want to get into long arguments with people over things like this.

Tom Felton’s desperate? I thought he was just chilling nowadays and appearing in ‘The Flash’. I’ve always thought that he came across a quite a nice bloke.
Maybe that’s just me, though.
I’m not really bothered much about this, since I find Emma Watson a little annoying. I usually stick to the ‘Rupert Grint and Evanna Lynch are pretty cool people’ side of things.
I’d be angry with Rupert too if he started using Emma to promote his projects, but I believe that Rupert is better than that. He has moved on from HP. Tom should move on as well.
I personally don’t think Rupert’s that much into the publicity side of things. He seems to be more into the acting side of it (not to mention the fact that he doesn’t even use social media). Sometimes, I don’t think Rupert Grint even realises he’s a celebrity, and keeps wondering why everyone asks him for selfies.
It is what it is, I suppose. I personally don’t mind Tom Felton, but it does seem a little odd that he’d do this, especially considering what happened last time he met up with Emma Watson (which resulted in his then-girlfriend getting hate mail from people who shipped Tom with Emma).
During the lead-up to
the third year exams, Ron noticed that Hermione wasn’t eating at diner. They
started bickering about it, ending up with Ron holding a spoon-full of rice
pudding up to Hermione’s mouth. The rest of the Gryffindor table burst into
laughter, and Hermione sunk low into her seat, blushing like a tomato.
At the start of fourth
year, Hermione was trying to tame her bushy hair, and a curly strand happened
to fall down her face. Without thinking, Ron curled the strand behind her ear.
Noticing her confused expression, Ron felt his ears go red, and he hastily
dropped his hand.
When Viktor Krum kissed
her (a small peck on the lips), Hermione had a mental image of red hair and
freckles. She became so flustered that she hurriedly pulled away from Krum,
mumbled ‘good night’, and hurried off back to the Gryffindor common-room. The
next time she saw Ron, she dropped several books that she was holding, and
couldn’t look him in the eye.
In the second half of
fourth year, Ron developed a tendency to stare at Hermione when she was
reading. He didn’t realise he was doing it until she noticed and blushed
scarlet. Ron hurriedly left the room, his heart hammering against his chest.
In fifth year, Hermione
had a habit of tripping over her own feet and falling into Ron. Harry kept
giggling as he watched his two friends blush furiously.
Hermione once walked in
on Ron having a bath in the prefect’s bathroom. Since his hair was over his
eyes at the time, he never realised. But Hermione spent the next week unable to
look him the eye, without remembering the way her heart had jumped into her
mouth as she watched him bathe.
After McGonagall came
across the two bickering during a prefect patrol, she insisted that they ‘avoid
flirting during prefect duties’. Ron and Hermione both turned red, and avoided
each other’s eyes for the next week. Harry didn’t mention it because it wasn’t
relevant to his journey.
Ron almost murmured
Hermione’s name when Lavender was kissing him for the first time. His ears went
red, and he pulled away from Lavender. Thankfully, Lavender thought he was just
being shy.
After their first kiss,
Ron and Hermione kept accidentally bumping hands as they picked up the basilisk
fangs. As their hands met, their eyes did too; resulting in both of them
grinning giddily, their faces red.
On their first date
(which was to Hogsmeade), they ended up having a ten-minute conversation on
repairing vacuum cleaners because both of them were incredibly nervous. Eventually,
they burst out laughing, Ron put his arm round Hermione’s shoulders and
Hermione kissed him on the cheek.
