one-time-i-dreamt:

There was a new movie coming out that was a gay romantic comedy about an assassin falling in love with the guy he was supposed to kill. The only thing I remember about it other than the premise was that the assassins supposed victim/love interest was going to be played by Daniel Radcliffe.

Was’? ‘Was’? How do you mean ‘was’? Why didn’t this get made; it sounds awesome?!

The worst thing anyone has ever said about each of the golden trio actors…

Daniel Radcliffe: Understandably, he gets a little irritated when the paparazzi hound him in public. He also once apparently said something about having ‘racist friends’, but that might have been a media invention…..

Emma Watson: Do you want the abridged list version, or the 30-page essay version?…

Rupert Grint: Er….he smokes?…. Seriously, has anyone ever said anything bad about Rupert? Does “you are too attractive, too talented and have too much of a wonderful personality” count as criticism?…

Luna x Harry (Larry? Huna?)

It has come to my attention how close Harry and Luna really are, and their ship is so underated!!

Disclaimer: No, I am not saying this ship is better then others; no, I am not saying you absolutely have to ship them. I am not saying Harry only likes Luna or she’s the only one who makes him smile or she’s the only good friend he has(you’d think im exaggerating but their are a lot of people who’ll see it like that), etc.

I’ve never really understood why so many people ship Luna and Ginny- or Linny(?)- and not Harry and Luna. If you, however, don’t get how I could ever ship those two, I have reasons, and I’m going to listen them below!

Luna and Harry are very close, like very close(because apparently repeating something two times mean you really mean it).

Luna is one of the rare people who treat Harry like a regular human being, just plain ol’ Harry; not the famous Boy Who Lived! And I’m guessing that’s all Harry could ask for sometimes. I mean- he has his own problems with the Dursleys(in the beginning, anyway) and Voldermort I think the boy-who-lived attention got annoying at some point(??).

It’s not like he was constantly showered with attention, but still. Students still get excited when they see him(excludingThe Goblet of Fire), and let’s be honest: even Ron(slightly but not really Hermione) got a bit excited when they found out they were talking to Harry Potter.

Luna, however just saw him as Harry(you already said that you idiot). And it was a bit obvious Harry liked that.

Also, they had really good chemistry off screen and book-wise, which was kind of rare with certain characters, even Ron and Hermione at some times. Hell, Harry and Ginny relationship was just… Odd.

Ginny was odd on screen period, but that’ll be addressed in a different post.

Anywho, if you ever noticed, Harry usually had a genuine smile around Luna, has anyone else noticed that?? Or am I just laying way too much attention? Not saying that he gave fake smiles to everyone else(duh!!), just saying.

Sometimes, I think JK chose Luna as Harrys original love interest, but changed her mind. I mean, how close they are is insane!! Then again, friends can be that close to, so maybe I’m over analyzing.

But they did hold hands(next gif).

Anyway, if you’ve gotten this far, you’re one kewl witch or wizard(or non-binary magical being??).

If you want, please leave suggestions on what I should post next(no, it doesn’t have to be harry potter related)!!

With that being said…

Until next time, my friends!

Interesting. I ship Lunarry, but also Linny and Hinny (as well as Harry x Ginny x Luna in a poly ship). Thoughts, everybody?

Speaking of Ron and Hermione, I think that the films were responsible for their instances of iffy chemistry; since the screen-writer for all but one of the HP films (Steve Kloves) had something of a bias against Ron and seemed to want Hermione matched with virtually anyone except the person she canonically fell in love with.

You see this? This is an Age Line. Dumbledore drew it himself.

Hermione conveying so much more chemistry with the twins in one moment than she did with Ron in all eight films —

I love this scene! She is confused and amused!

No freakin’ duh; these films (aside from OOTP) were written by someone who had a bias against Ron, and avoided Ron/Hermione moments whenever possible. Steve Kloves (the screen-writer for all the HP films except the fifth) referred to Hermione as his favourite character, and seemed dismissive of Ron and the Ron/Hermione pairing whenever he talked about them.

If you look at the behind-the-scenes footage, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint had really good chemistry together. And that was the case throughout virtually the entire series; it’s just that we rarely got to see it on-screen (aside from OOTP which, as I’ve already mentioned, was written by a different screen-writer than the other films). That potential was wasted simply because the screen-writer had little interest in Ron as a character or Ron/Hermione as a pairing.

Sorry if I hijacked your post, but this always bugged me about the films.

‘I also see that maybe Emma had a crush on Dan during filming or they had really good chemistry as well I think that’s one of the many potential reason for why Kloves and the directors went that that…  Bl**dy Kloves’

It’s not very likely. Daniel Radcliffe did have a brief crush on Emma Watson during the first couple of films (as did much of the young male cast aside from Felton), but Emma’s always said that she considered him to be like a brother to her (and he’s said the same thing in recent years). They do have good chemistry in the films, although definitely more familial than anything-else, despite what Kloves tried to do with their characters. Their IRL relationship reflected their characters’ relationship as that of siblings.

Having said that, Emma has also said she considered Rupert Grint to be like her brother, despite there being a lot of evidence to suggest that she had a crush on Rupert during the production of the last four films (check out my ‘everyone fancies Rupert Grint’ tag for more posts about it). We may never know the full story of what went on.

I don’t think Kloves used Dan and Emma’s chemistry as an excuse for film-only not-quite-platonic scenes between their characters. The screen-writer clearly had a bias against Ron Weasley and the Ron/Hermione relationship. Even though Dan and Emma’s chemistry was like that of siblings (as their characters’ chemistry was), Kloves still pushed their characters into not-quite-platonic scenes at the expense of developing the Ron/Hermione relationship (which Rupert and Emma could have easily delivered on, as was shown in OOTP).
